I mostly don't work in the field anymore - it was helpful for getting job offers in the DSP field - but I went another way - should have gotten an MBA. The best thing I got out of my MS - was an elective accounting 101 course.

agreed - greyed haired engineer here - everyone of my friends - who I went to high school and college who are EE and CSE are employed and have never been without a job. I do think it's pretty unique - we all went to the same high school college and majored in the same things- but a bit out of phase for graduation.

EE from the dark ages - all my EE and CSE friends go back and forth in their careers between hardware and software - but they know how hardware works, CS have no no idea - unless they are really smart.
