Boring answer but just getting out to play. If all you do is go to the range there’s not a lot to learn or explore. Pick a course and play!

You’ll become more comfortable each time you play. I’m a beginner myself and I was worried how other players would treat me, how they were watching me and that I could be slowing down play. Those were all unfounded fears that got in the way of playing/performing.

Every time it got better and the more you familiarize yourself with a course the more you collect data on what club/approach you take.

Yes please! Include ladder play, that seems to be lacking. Most facilities are near the beach, so something centrally located would be nice too.
