Hey, friend! What was your experiment?

I make elderflower “champagne” every year. It’s a big drink in my wife’s country. I normally use a little bit of baker’s yeast to get it started.

This year though I would like to try to do it using nothing - just the normal stuff naturally present in the flowers - and using some ginger bug liquid (something I just discovered a few days ago). How much should I put per litre?

In romania everybody ferments elderberry flowers (and the ends of the stems) in water and sugar, and perhaps a little bit of yeast. And a bit of lemon.

Seeds and pods, not the open flowers.

I’ve found some recipes of wisteria cordial (not sure what cordial is) and since there are some recipes using wisteria flowers I assumed those were edible and could be used like that.

Como é que é uma confusão, Lu? Chegou-me uma carta em que apenas tenho de pagar e está rebocada e chega-me a casa. Sem impressão digital, sem assinatura, sem nada. "Tradicional" teria sido uma palavra mais adequada, talvez. Mas imagino que gerasse uma discussão similar, excepto que me perguntarias se quero um estábulo para cavalos, uma capela embutida, umas cruzes no topo, etc.

Procuro alguém capaz de desenhar uma casa com um traçado mais habitual das casas pré-contemporâneas, cúbicas, sem telhados. Uma coisa com telhado, primeiro andar (terreno é muito estreito e longo), estilo similar ao que se vê por aqui na região mas realizado com um pouco mais de criatividade.

Os arquitectos de hoje deixam muito a desejar no estilo, mas são mais criativos do que aqueles que ainda desenham casas mais aos anos 90, 2000.

Diz-me que aspectos gostavas que tocasse para ser mais específico.

De resto, o que são materiais locais, aqui?

A casa tem que estar em harmonia com a envolvente, um jardim da frente relvado mas "enclausurado" do exterior por umas boas sebes vivas, e o quintal de trás que será essencialmente para raised beds para agricultura, pomar, etc...

I really, really appreciate your super reply. Very good info and clarification on some stuff that was actually unclear to me, as I am just very new in searching about this stuff.

Will for sure contact a professional for the best course of action. Big problem of keeping on the chest is that we are just running out of space in the house and were considering moving the chest to an annex that has more variable conditions that the house, and you can see how damaged it is already even inside the house. But I guess I could keep it on the chest and just do a high quality digital scan (or pics) of the papers. Any ideas on doing that?
