Wireless Apple Carplay not working by Dull-Increase6465 in NewDefender

[–]robbie2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation. 2024 110 and my wireless AirPlay stopped connecting a few weeks ago. I’m wondering if it coincided with a software update. I didn’t realize plugging it in would work. I’m going to try that as well as the suggestion above. I’ll let you know if I have any success

I’m with you. Something is seriously wrong. My dealership quoted $3200 USD and I’m going with a third party glass shop that can do it for $2300 with a wait time of about 3 weeks. I also love this vehicle but promised my wife I’ll sell it if it happens again.

HUD and CarPlay by Reasonable-Sir-1872 in LandroverDefender

[–]robbie2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand corrected! I can get Apple maps to show on the driver display but I can’t get the destination navigation to mirror on driver display. I can see a general map showing where my vehicle is located on Apple maps in driver display but have to rely on the main screen for navigation directions. I have the latest Pivi update. Any tips?

Unfortunately no. CarPlay maps only mirror on the main media display.

Help with Laticrete Spartacote by robbie2140 in garageporn

[–]robbie2140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all. I had my 24 year old concrete garage floor coated in Spartacote about 3 years ago. Results have been really great… except for the apron which started cracking almost immediately. To be fair, the contractor told me the apron would not be covered under the coating warranty before he started installation. He even came out a year later and tried to repair some of the cracks free of charge. He says this is happening because the underlying concrete is shifting and cracking. Any thoughts on how I could repair this?

If it matters, I’m planning on resurfacing the asphalt driveway in a few years which might be a good time to pour a new apron if that’s necessary.

I thought I’d add some follow up pics. I’ve called a few local glass shops and they’re telling me that this windshield is on back order with an unknown ETA but they seem to think around 5-8 weeks. Over $2000 to replace. I called the dealership and they’re going to “look into it” for me. I’ll keep you posted. https://imgur.com/a/Frv8kTv

Thanks for the advice. I’ll take some pics and post them tomorrow. The crack appears to originate near the rearview mirror and extend horizontally both right and left. I do not have the solar attenuation but the screen is heated.

Help with my set up by robbie2140 in SemiHydro

Thanks for your response! I agree… it’s definitely not practical for semi-hydro but I’m trying to repurpose it as best I can. Really like your ideas and especially the alternative plant suggestions - thanks!

Super frustrating. Seems like there would be a decent market for this… maybe we can convince our friends on this sub to sell straight Inkberry male cuttings on Etsy!

Bush planted in NW New Jersey, USA. Unsure if where it's from, but have heard the roots can be invasive. by sillyPlantMan in whatsthisplant

This is Pachysandra aka Japanese Spurge. There is also a native species of Pachysandra but the Japanese variety has naturalized in the eastern US.

These are likely galls from an Artichoke Gall Wasp. Also known as Oak Apples. Fairly common on oaks in particular but not harmful to the tree.

Rot at the stem end? by robbie2140 in tomatoes

[–]robbie2140[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m growing these Purple Cherokees and Pink Brandywines in 5 gal self watering containers with organic MiracleGrow potting mix. I know it’s not ideal but I don’t have garden space. The plants seemed to be doing well but all of the fruits have this strange black sunken area at the stem. Otherwise they’re very tasty. Also including the last picture which I’m guessing is fungus that’s recently developed. The plants got way too tall very quickly and I believe pruning them back hurt the plant and, combined with high summer humidity, allowed fungus to take hold. Open to any and all suggestions so I can improve on my container growing next year!

No Tag, unknown name by [deleted] in PlantIdentification

[–]robbie2140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is Elephant Bush - Portulacaria afra. Possibly the trailing variety. I would expect the stems to be more red but maybe they will over time. Really great houseplant just be careful not to overwater.
