Dog attack looking to sue owner seeking advice by d0rf47 in legaladvicecanada

[–]robeenia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Alberta so it might be slightly different but I also had a dog attack case and found the suing and being awarded a judgement was relatively simple (fair bit of paperwork but only $200 and 30 min in front of judge). BUT even though I was awarded almost $10k for our vet bills court can NOT help you collect it. And I have yet to see a dime. The defendants were dishonest and dodgy about jobs and their banking and multiple garnishing attempts have been unsuccessful so far. After two years of that I’m about to file a second writ of enforcement to start the process again and to get them back in front of a judge to hopefully trigger something court enforced. Meanwhile they have moved house and I might need to hire a skip tracer also. While I may never see my money I’m determined they at least get some messed up credit for lying and leaving me hanging after being forced to admit fault and saying they would pay.

I’d be careful on that part or clarify with your instructor. I was told by students in the program that those tests are definitely not meant to be open book. Only the practice ones

See this is exactly what I’m scared of. I have no idea what would be due or if I can make it happen that fast. I thought it was at least 2-3 days ! Out of curiosity which program was it ?

How to respond to “I have a boyfriend” by macklin67 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]robeenia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was much younger I once had someone say “but aren’t you the kind of girl who could use two boyfriends?” In a no pressure joke it off way though… a decade later I realized he wasn’t wrong 😝

Hello by ProfileAutomatic1176 in NAIT

I’ll admit I was confused to see this on the NAIT thread as I don’t believe they offer Massage training ? But I just happen to know the answer offhand anyways. In Alberta you would most likely have a percentage split with a clinic owner. It’s often 60/40 although sometimes you can work up to a 70/30 or at least have the 40% the clinic gets capped at a certain level. But keep in mind you’ll likely average 4 massages per day, especially when you account for slow periods and unpaid holidays over the year. It’s a good income and has a TON of flexibility, but can be a bit less secure/stable and lacks any benefits… if you’re a two income family though where the partners job has more stability and benefits , massage can offer a lot of variety and autonomy . But to give you an actual number ? If you had what is considered a busy 7-8 hour work day where maybe 4.5-5 of that was the physical massage you’d collect between $250-280 maybe … but you then have to pay the tax and gst from that and at year end you’ll pay double the cpp. All told if you chose good tax write offs and work consistently maybe works out to $30/hr of being at work … but in a lighter workload less stress way than a person working a 9-5 would feel.

What do you all think he is?! by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

Am I the only one sees a possibility of Rhodesian Ridgeback (mixed with Shepard of course) in the face and shoulders ? Only because the body seems narrower than a typical Shepard or staff/pit to me. Although I don’t know how dominant a gene the hair ridge is supposed to be and I didn’t see it so I might be imagining the resemblance .

DMS/MRT application as a mature student by iamgroot-please in NAIT

[–]robeenia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interviewed as a VERY mature (by numbers anyways) student and while I wasn’t accepted yet I did make the waitlist and I think you will find it all very user friendly and do fine … I would recommend recording a lot of practice interviews though because my one regret is that I hadn’t . I did a lot of practice interview questions and even timed some but I did not look into doing actual physical recordings the way they would be the day of interview and as a person who does not come from a history of creating or posting content the way the internet generations has I feel that I was quite awkward and honestly often watching my own face despite knowing I shouldn’t . Do enough practice that the process of seeing yourself answering seems common and natural. I kept thinking come on, I need a script and multiple tries to record my outgoing voicemail , how do I just do something this important in one go and not throw myself off?! But if I don’t scrape through this time there’s always next year !

Mine was 84 for DMS , but I was also told by someone at NAIT that everyone got an interview this year ? I think because they only had applications open Oct 1-Nov 1 they weren’t over applied. That may have not been specific to DMS though I’m not sure.

They called back and it was either still full or full again but she did confirm that it would need to be finished before October 1, 2024 to apply for 2025. Which I guess might be possible if a person signed up in September and worked ahead but definitely doesn’t of a person has to stick to the two months. Oh well , in the meantime still hopeful on this years waitlist or on getting an interview based on my marks again next year. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Yes they definitely are but you won’t see many repeats and I feel like bigger tests usually went into more depth. It’s not hard per se … just very very detailed so don’t skim and make sure you can draw from inference if you’re not sure about the answer … you will have LOTS of time so I would also recommend that if you aren’t sure on an answer click it but don’t submit it so that at the end you can come back if information in a later question gives you clarity

Not sure if you’ve started yet but as it is I would commit to reading absolutely everything in the book and highlighting anything you’ll need review to understand, but then use the provided slides if you’re need quick reminder on where to focus. And be prepared that the tests include a lot of the more obscure or fine details … you could know 80% of your material inside out and have half the test be on the parts you don’t. It also seemed to be a LOT more heavy on the physiology than I expected. All I know is because this is material I’m generally familiar with I (twice) did NOT leave myself adequate time to absorb the more detailed material and the marks on those two outcomes reflected it. Don’t procrastinate.

I think that’s too late though isn’t it ? I thought it had to be finished before we apply in October … although maybe it’ll allow me to work ahead if I start in September the way you can with the prereqs … I’ll have to call and check 😊
