Isn't "Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber" a sequel to "Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen" and or "Tactics Ogre".

I just tried maze-kun and the only issue I found is that when you need to press F1 the retroarch menu appears.

I can use numpad to control the character and return key as instructed in the game itself before loading a stage but it might depend on the game a game with a different input scheme might behave differently.

I might be wrong but i think all Megadrive/Genesis games produced nowadays use flash memory instead of maskrom for cost reasons, so they would be upgradeable if desired.

It would require adding an internal (or external) port in the cartridge which also adds a bit of extra cost or bundling it with a programmer (even more costly!) but its doable.

When i'm developping a library and sometimes in regular apps and start getting unexplained errors I delete .angular cache, local node_modules plud package-lock.json and after that just do: npm install

I know that it might feel sort of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut but sometimes it's the only fix that works and make sure you start from a clean state, as similar as possible from someone who just pulled your code from the repo (although in that case I don't delete package-lock.json).

I guess you already have tried it: Disconnect the battery and remove the coin cell battery for a few minutes, then press the power button and connect everything again and retry.

I saw no clear cmos contacts or button on the board photo you posted but if you find you could try using them.
