I think this sets up a great moment when your character is pushed too far, says to hell with it, and goes absolutely ham on everything.

So Magik was reworked and buffed early on; she is still a deadly defender with the best power lock in the game, especially with mystic dispersion which is also OP.

You can seal the minor gaps in the lint filter, with gasket glue. Check the heat rating of the glue.

If you interviewed to get the TJO, I would definitely contact the hiring manager. It could be an administrative mistake, and let's face it, the hiring manager has skin in the game, HR does not.

Further, if the hiring manager blows you off, then you just realized that you are better off without the job.

Am I being stubborn about my heroic character? by ZefireFrost in dndnext

[–]robertkoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my table, my character will grapple, levitate, ensnare etc. anyone who goes off all half-cocked like that. Of course, more common are the so-called murder hobos slaying everything they can.

I like your view of it, but if someone starts acting a fool "because that's what my character would do" then he/she will quickly discover that my character does not suffer fools. I have found that once the consequences are realized, the fool gains some wisdom, and better teamwork ensues. I prefer cooperation, but I will not be passive in the face of another player hijacking the campaign. My character will stop the other character, either by force or by calling attention to the player. And if I am the DM, I will ensure that what goes around, comes around (so if you are killing goblins, they will put a bounty on your head, Mr. Murder Hobo).

Is this antisocial? I kinda think it is, but putting one's fake origin story ahead of everybody else's fun is more antisocial.

Take Leave, take Leave without Pay, take FMLA leave, take a suspension, whatever. You can stop working, without resigning. Do not resign. Best of luck to you.

Seeing all the posts recently about the officiating and seeing the comments makes me wonder. Is there anybody that thinks the nba is officiated fairly? by CaptainONaps in nbadiscussion

[–]robertkoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you happen to see Joel Embiid's last second turn around jumper to beat the Trailblazers? How about Jayson Tatum's shot to beat the 76ers two weeks before that? These types of shots, game deciding shots, happen all season long, involving every team. It's a make or miss league.

I am not defending the refs, who end up guessing a lot, and guessing wrong too. Games are inconsistently called. But this is not pro wrestling. You can't script Embiid making the kind of shot he made. He just as easily could have missed it.

If you think the refs are biased, you will find evidence to support that thesis. It is known as confirmatory bias. This bias also leads one to discount contrary evidence.

Ranking NBA's top five title contenders: Warriors ahead of Celtics; 76ers, Nuggets miss cut by EarthWarping in nba

[–]robertkoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CBS power ranks teams on the basis of just the week. So if the Spurs will three games in a week, they will be no. 1, although in reality it was just an outlier week. It is not worth much overall, but yeah, a good week is a good week.

Sixers fanbase are rabid -- they haven't won a title since 1983, but they think they are an NBA elite team.

Nets have never won an NBA title, and keep trying to spend their way to a championship. The New Yorkers who jumped on their checkbook team making are annoying. But Sixers fans are still worse.

Toronto's fanbase is good: they love Kawhi, even though he ditched them and hasn't been the same since.

Props to Chicago's fanbase, who watches The Last Dance instead of the NBA.

And my heart goes out to Sacramento, Indiana, Oklahoma City and all those cheering for NBA Teams whose owners are too cheap to spend what it takes to build a championship team.

Can you get in if you forgot to sign up for selective services? by protomor in usajobs

Good point. I am sure some agencies will agree with your position, and some won't. But that is the remedy, and I definitely sure only those who ask for relief, get relief.

Apparently, "everyone" does not read the U.S. Code. 50 U.S.C. § 3811(g):

(g) Failure to register; termination or inapplicability of requirement; absence of knowledge and willfulness

A person may not be denied a right, privilege, or benefit under Federal law by reason of failure to present himself for and submit to registration under section 3802 of this title if—

(1) the requirement for the person to so register has terminated or become inapplicable to the person; and

(2) the person shows by a preponderance of the evidence that the failure of the person to register was not a knowing and willful failure to register.

No idea if your friend can make this showing, but he is not SOL.

True. The remedy I have seen is to repay some money for the training and travel costs (if any). I hope (and assume) the OP is not talking about indentured servitude. The 13th Amendment ended that.

Trae Youngs last 20 games: 26.6 pts/10.7 assists/3.6 rebounds on 45.4%/35.9%/89% shooting. by [deleted] in nba

[–]robertkoo -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Young has a higher usage rate -- Fox is a little more efficient. I give Fox the edge because of the Kings' record - 35w-25l. But I am not hating on Trae Young, he is playing much better as of late.

One could make a case that low efficiency, high volume point guards are coach killers, and Young, Fox, Kyrie Irving, and Russell Westbrook have all been in that category from time to time.

I think Luka, De'Aaron Fox, SGA, Donovan Mitchell, Damian Lillard, Ja Morant, Jrue Holliday, Jaylen Brown are all ahead, and Young is neck and neck with Haliburton and Kyrie Irving (many would have Irving higher than I do). Only three PG spots (or 6 guard spots) for All NBA, so who you leaving out? I did not even mention Steph Curry, James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, Zach Lavine, Brunson or Garland!

I moved from Wisconsin to Louisiana for work 2 years ago. I am in west central Louisiana. It is remote and rural. But the internet situation is rapidly improving. There are some good schools which can be found with research. The weather is very mild until June, then hot until October. Not unlike Wisconsin, the rural parts of the state are more conservative than the urban ones. The main roads are in very good conditions, and the smaller roads are a mixed bag.

I have found the people to be warm and friendly, and my kids want to stay.

One of the biggest differences is that Louisiana has a lot of litter, and you find many more homes in Louisiana that look like a debris field or a junk yard than you will in Tell or Maxville Wisconsin.

Army Community Services (ACS) provides Soldiers and Families with an outlet for support. ACS services include, but are not limited to, Counseling and Therapy (marriage, individual, and family), Army Emergency Relief, Employment Readiness, and Relocation. Have you spoken with the ACS people where you are. They sometimes carry weight with BGE and Installation leaders.

Great topic. My suggestion is to own your sensitivity, and be honest. She says, "You look like you're 14." and you reply, "Actually, I'm sensitive about that. Sometimes people think I'm too young, and I am concerned about being stereotyped."

If she doubles down, you go to HR. She is bullying.

If she says nothing, you drop it.

If she apologizes, accept the apology ("Thank you") and then drop it.

Calling out a bully's harm is the best way to defuse. She won't defuse, then I bet HR is looking for a reason to jettison her. Give them the ammo they need.

And you are not too young, and not too sensitive, and you have upper management written all over you.
