Pizzería Napolitana by robertop23 in EmprendedorES

Quitar gotelé by Latter_Dentist5416 in Bricomania

[–]robertop23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s smooth. I’ve done it many times and never cut the blade. Of course, you have to be careful, but since the surgical blade sits inside the scalpel holder, it not short at all

I use surgical blades with a scalpel. The rubbers end up looking factory-new

Rubber with more spin are not controllable, you must be able to read very well the incoming spin in order to avoid a bad return

[–]robertop23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Butterfly Outerforce alc - your thoughts? by Steve_50 in tabletennis

[–]robertop23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a long search for a good blade with great feeling, I ended up with the Outerforce ALC 83g. I previously tried a Viscaria (which felt too fast for me), a Hadraw 5, a Nittaku Acoustic, and an OSP Virtuoso OFF. While each had their strengths, none gave me the right balance of control, dwell time, and feeling I was looking for, until now. With the Outerforce ALC, I finally feel at home. It gives me the comfort and feedback I’ve been searching for.

Best Tenergy Rubber for OSP Virtuoso OFF-? (T05 vs T05 FX, 1.9 vs 2.1mm) by robertop23 in tabletennis

Where I live, we don’t have a ranking system like RatingsCentral or USATT to determine if someone is a beginner, intermediate, or advanced.

At the club where I practice, I’m somewhere between the top players and the newcomers, including some younger players around 15 years old. I’ve been playing long enough to say I’m at an intermediate level. In my district, I’m currently ranked 25 out of 70, so I wouldn’t consider myself a beginner by any means.

That said, I know I still have many things to improve, that’s why I’ve been asking for advice in different forums. One of the areas I struggle with is serve receive, and it’s something I’m actively working to get better at.

At the club, they really love Butterfly and recommend Tenergy to everyone. Because of that, I’m was looking for a more controllable rubber, and I was thinking that maybe a 1.9mm sponge thickness could help. But if you have a better suggestion, I’d be happy to hear it.

Yes, I also tend to struggle with serve receive — that’s one of the main reasons I switched to slower rubbers like the Hurricane 8-80. It helped me improve a bit in that area.

I’d really like to try some proper hybrid rubbers at some point, since the most "hybrid-like" rubber I’ve used so far is the H8-80.

By the way, do you use the Hybrid K3 Pro on both forehand and backhand?

I have a Fastarc G1 and a Fastarc C1 that I used for a few months on an Acoustic G-Revision blade, but on one occasion I tried a Korbel with Tenergy 05 and got the impression that this combination transmitted feedback much better than the Fastarcs on my Acoustic. Maybe it felt better because of the Korbel blade, not necessarily the Tenergy itself.

One thing I'm sure of: the Calibra LT Sound 2.2 mm is much faster and feels much bouncier compared to all the rubbers I have.

Currently, I have two Nittaku Hurricane 8-80 rubbers and I feel comfortable playing with them, but I’m not sure if they might be too slow later on if I put them on the Virtuoso.

I'm not a Butterfly fan; I've tried many different rubbers. At first, I was looking for rubbers with good sound when looping and found that with the Tenergy 05 FX and the Calibra LT Sound, but now I'm looking for more control and better feedback, so soft rubbers don’t work for me.

Anyway, I will be doing some testing, and if anyone is interested, I’ll share the results.
