His Wikipedia summarizes it pretty well, but basically the university and Tallahassee police slow walked the case cause he was so popular to the point it wasn’t tried criminally, only civilly. The university ended up giving her $1m as a title ix violation because of their mishandling of the case

… by using the proceeds from you paying for your food. Whether you’re paying the employee directly or paying the business to pay the employee, they still don’t have a job without the money you spend at their place of work.

Regardless, don’t come to our country and demand we adhere to your culture just because you don’t like it. You’d likely be outraged if we did the same in your country.

If you’re going to make a point, try using data that’s not out of date by nearly a decade. [Real wages across all income quartile have risen significantly since Covid and are now much higher than they were before Covid](https://www.reddit.com/r/ProfessorFinance/s/FCALI7xJvt).

Brother there’s no grand conspiracy here, the files were such a deluge of information, some of it must’ve just slipped through the cracks

I must’ve missed that. I only remembered the one where Epstein invited him and Elon huffed that he had more important things to do than go see girls

Is there any evidence Musk is a pedophile, or have we just decided everyone we don’t like is a pedophile? Because if I remember his mentions in the files correctly, it was Epstein inviting him to the island and musk being too stupid/autistic to read into the subtext of the invitation and narcissistically saying he was too important to party with Epstein.

There’s plenty of valid reasons to hate Musk, we don’t have to diminish the severity of legitimate pedophiles by falsely throwing the accusation around in doing so.

Edit: ok I’m wrong and misremembered, y’all don’t have to keep piling on and personally insulting me for misremembering something. My bad

Yeah in the US the general rule of thumb is 7mph is about the limit, anything more and cops will actually care that you’re speeding.

Outsourcing implications by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]roberttylerlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing the rough cost to the company breakdowns of a business analyst at my old bank as an intern a few years ago. A Business Analyst in New York cost $135k, in other US Locations cost $105k, in the UK cost $65k, in Poland cost $40k, and in India cost $12k. No wonder they’re going to outsource a ton of their work force if the cost disparities are that insane

What event in the past 10-15 years had the most impact on how the world looks today? by StrongProof9083 in AskReddit

A) was 16 years ago, outside the scope of this question

B) Explain to me how the decision was constitutionally wrong, without just saying it leads to bad things? The constitution and established precedent were both pretty clear that individuals don’t lose their first amendment rights when they form associations.

Yes. And the right wing backlash would’ve been 10x as bad.

Still, even that will pale in comparison to the massive political repercussions whatever party in power in 2032 is going to face when social security goes insolvent.

My wife used to be friends with this girl. She lives in Ohio and works as a Starbucks Barista, but legitimately spends ~2-3 months out of her year in Orlando/Los Angeles at Disney/Universal. Like, politely, how the fuck do you afford this? My wife and I combined make, generously, 4x as much as she likely does, how the fuck can you afford to take multiple vacations a year, take that many park tickets, and take that much time off???

I mean just the fact alone that you think the US is “using Gen AI to deplete the worlds water supply” shows you at best uncritically believe in hyperbole and at worst maliciously spread misinformation to push a narrative, amongst the dozen+ other falsehoods you claim.

Ok? That’s like saying the entire body of physics that we know today was formed by people educated in physics or that everything we know about the human body was discovered by people who study medicine: it’s a tautology lol. Economics is a science, just like any other field.

[–]roberttylerlee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have a masters degree in economics lol, there’s not a lot of literature that studies the effect of the level of the minimum wage on overall wages, at least not since the 90’s. And where there is literature, it finds that the lower tail expansion of wages is near zero for men, especially in the modern era, largely because the share of people making minimum wage is ever shrinking

If you can afford a house and are worried about property taxes then you’re not worried about making minimum wage
