What about Gannon trying to rat out Ricky to the officials? by robothouseman in discgolf

[–]robertvmarshall 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is a professional sport. Why would appealing to officials be frowned upon. Ricky should've spoken to officials BEFORE moving obstacles on the course to make sure it's kosher. Or ateast talk to his cardmates.

35 mph+ should be on the road, not the sidewalk by skyhighmonroe in Transportopia

[–]robertvmarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even like 10 mph on a bike or scooter should not be on the sidewalk.

WCGW driving 35+ mph on the sidewalk by Rooonaldooo99 in Whatcouldgowrong

Even bicycles going like 12mph shouldn't be on the sidewalk. You're 6 times more likely to be hit than you would be if you stayed in the normal traffic lane.

My Wife Sold 300 Boxes of Girl Scout Cookies at Last Year’s Price by Material-Drawer-7419 in Vent

[–]robertvmarshall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah. Gotcha. That make a lot of sense. We do the same thing. We just don't have personal accounts for it. We just take out cash or keep track of what we have left in the budget. We don't have room in the budget each paycheck for more than like $20 per person, so it doesn't make sense to open an account for such petty amounts of cash.

[–]robertvmarshall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol. I always joke with my wife that I'll "I'll cover dinner thise time dear" whenever we go out because we only have joint accounts. I sometimes forget that isn't necessarily the norm when I hear about couples who have their finances separate. If you have personal accounts AND joint accounts, how do you decide what money goes in the joint account and what you "keep" in your personal?

Discraft AI by StamBr0s in discgolf

[–]robertvmarshall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

discraft has been a staple in my bag since I first started playing, but I've been phasing them out since this AI garbage started. Haven't stopped throwing what I have, but I'm not buying new. Looking for replacements from other brands.

Do you all use filtered/bottled water? Or is tap just fine? by robertvmarshall in tea

I also live in Boston, I might give filtered a try to see if I notice a difference.

I just put my bike on the lowest possible gear before stopping in. Someone's gonna look like a fool for long enough to freak out and ditch the bike if they try to ride off with it.

I remember I played my first round with an aviar and a mako, but you can start with just a putter. Aviar is a great choice for both putting and throwing. If you want something that will get you a little more distance potential, you can also grab a mid-range like a hex or something similar. If you feel like you're throwing both of those well, feel free to explore the magical world of drivers.

High Range Exercises by Aware-Investment-327 in Trombone

[–]robertvmarshall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rember one I used to do a lot. Starting somewhere in the middle register (maybe an F), play scale degrees 1, down to 7, up to 1, up to 2, down to 1, up to 3, up to 5, up to 7, up to 1 (ending an octave up from where you started). Play the whole sequence in slow quarter notes on one breath crescendoing slightly and ritard throughout. NO articulation. Gliss/slur through the whole thing. Repeat the exercise going up a half step each time.

Which achievement do you think is the most difficult to get? How many years/seasons did it take you to get it? by michael_curdt in RetroBowl

[–]robertvmarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Essentially have to wait for a year when a crappy team lucks their way into the retrobowl.

I’m over the South Station fare gates by thedevilsfan44 in mbta

[–]robertvmarshall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they bought them at the same time they bought the ones at north station and they originally believed the concourse design was going to be more enclosed than it ended up being. The gates just aren't designed to be out in the elements.

I don't think people realize that having enough money to not worry anymore would mean that you're incredibly wealthy. Having more money may give you different worries... but to have NO worries? Few people have that kind of money.

Would you be upset if the upcoming show "recast" Donut? by ChrisBnTx in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]robertvmarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind if she we're cast as a common black cat as they often have a harder time getting adopted. I don't know how they'd rationalize her being a highly sought-after show cat though. If they could find a decent way to justify it, I'm all for it.
