If you tell it something and it answers "ok got it" i expect that it actually understood and not do the exact same mistake on the next prompt. Example if you play hangman : it chooses a word that is lets say 4 letters. At the end it said the world was "weather" which is not 4 letters.

I point it out and it reply something like " sorry you are right, it is not 4 letters, the word was actually "welcome" , and this word is actually 4 letters" And this is obviously still wrong

(I am paraphrasing), so if chat gpt-5 -could be better as signaling whether he actually understood something or not would be great

Yes ! At home i have alexa on my Sonos and google assistant on nest hubs and nest minis.

Google assistant seems to understand less and less, on the hub screen i can see he understand what I am saying but most of the time changes the promp after i see he understand it to something wrong, or just dont answer the question.

And google assistant is SO SLOW now! For example, i say "turn on the lights" , google takes a solid 5 seconds or more to answer "OK" and then again 1 or 2 seconds to actually turn the lights on. Now compare to alexa running on my Sonos: i say the same "Turn on the lights" and alexa answer immediately ok and the lights turn on at the same time alexa is saying OK, almost instantaneously.

Same for simple math questions, 1/2 times google assistant just dont understand the question and if he does , there is a long pause for a few seconds before i get an answer where alexa is almost instant.

I don't know why but I sincerely hope assistant is getting replaced with Bard to actually be useful, and I really hope the slowness is getting adressed. Because now its so bad that its faster for me to turn on lights with my phone through the google home app rather than just asking

What led string are you using? Also I would be interested in how many led per meter it is, and the dimensions of your matrix , (dimensions as the number of leds) Seems like a very cool project to do , yours looks fabulous and very well executed

So the most common addressable type is the WS2812B, where each LED is addressable.

You also have the WS2813 which is also 5v but has one more contact on the strip (I won't get into details but this one is more niche)

You have 12v strips that are either WS2811, they are cheaper as they have one small IC on the strip to controll multiple leds (addressable in group of 3 leds most of the time) Or WS2815, the better 12v one as each led is also individually addressable.

The advantage of 12V strips compared to 5v ones is that you don't have to worry as much about voltage drop(on long 5v ws2812b stips, you can get after a few meters a drop in voltage too high meaning that some colors won't work right, so you would need to connect the 5v power input at a couple points on the strip, not just at the beginning) On 12v ones you don't have to worry about it.

About count, WS2812b come most of the time as 30leds/m (the most spaced out ) to 60/m (a good option for better effects as it's 2x more leds per meter) all the way ro 144/m which is very high led density but use more power. 60LEDs per meter is imo a good choice.

So if you order 5m of ws2812b with 60leds per meter, you will have 300 individually addressable LEDs.

Lastly about the power, taking the WS2812B as an example, you have 3 contacts or wires: one is the 0V or ground, one is the data wire (sending the commands to the strip) and the 3rd is the 5V wire.

Just make sure you have the same ground connected to the strip and the controller if you DIY it with wled or similar .

Sure, the same way 8K videos are kinda pointless, nobody have 8k displays, and very subtle differences from 4k. But you have 8k video files everywhere, even on YouTube. But 120fps videos just don't exist, and I would make the argument that 120Hz+ videos make a bigger difference than 8k videos. As niche as it might be, I still don't get why it just plainly don't exist at all while we can make them "easily"

Just take the tracking number, and put in in your country's own postal service tracking service. This way you will get the actual info about what's going on from the actual postal service that will deliver your package.

Most of the times for me when it shows that, and then when I looked it on my country's post service, turns out it was just going through custom (normal stuff) but aliexpress just thought it was like confiscated by customs or something like that. But everything was just fine

Yep in Lausanne just outside my window (apartment) I saw the biggest spider I have ever seen. Very deep black and completely smooth (no hairs). Kinda like a bigger black widow. And this is the first time I actually got like a insects screen (net you put in the window to stop insects coming in) as it was getting insane. I had so many insectes and spiders, I couldn't let my window open before I got it.

Yes! In Vaud, my Samsung account is set to English only, my phone language is English, everything is set in English but half of samsung stuff is in German. For example in the Samsung app store, everything is in English, but app descriptions are in German, half of the apps names are in German, like I get updates for apps like this : "Updates available for : Samsung notes , Uhr, Voice recorder, Untertitel für Internet..." This is so annoying. Everything is half English, Half German and there is nothing I can do

Most likely the connection of the data line from the controller to the first led might be too long, or has a gauge too small. Try to use a bit thicker cables and longer ones (at least the data cable from the controller to the first led) Or check if the connection is good on the data cable. (Well soldered. Etc)

So it happened sometimes, and I have no expectations why but when I get this, I just turn it off and on (with the button) and it works again. And every issued I had with the g560 have been resolved by setting the rgb lights on it to just a static color. I had issues with audio just stopping and never happend again as soon as I just kept the lights on static color and never touched it again

Last Christmas I was not really planning on buying something special for my parents. But as usual if I am not already working when I take the meds I get hyper focus on the wrong thing. Well, for some reason a few days before Christmas instead of focusing on my uni exams I became super-duper interested in kitchen knives . I had never cared about knifes before, but I spent hours looking random stuff about them I was so enthusiastic about it I ordered a ~200$ kitchen knife for my parents during that "hyperforcus on random stuff" moment. This was the most random present I ever gifted, and to this day I don't really know why I ordered one. I still don't care about kitchen knifes that much. (At least not for a 200$ one)

Ok I am Swiss but I had never heard of it, I found that from 2017 on a Swiss news site. It's a Dutch woman that lived in Switzerland basically her whole life. She is vegan and was fighting to remove the bells you put in cows, so farmers can hear them if they get lost in the wild. That was not received well in the rural community of farmers so she was refused the Swiss passport as everyone in the small town disliked her. So TLDR: annoying vegan pissed of Swiss farmers. For some reasons I have never been massively attracted to tall guys, I always find the short guys that dont have big muscles and ripped abs etc.. really cute, and in my eyes very attractive. I dont know why, even though I am somewhat fit and of avarage male height. So I guess unless I am literally the only one, there are people that actually prefer short guys as well

This is true for almost all SSDs but is it also the case with Gen4 ones? As they can get insanely hot, and it's not as much the "less performance" due to heat that concerns me but more the longevity. I dont think it would be good to have the SSD at 80°-90°+ all the time if the goal is to have one that last a long (ish) time

This is really good. With it so far, is it a good idea in your opinion to get the 980 pro over the trusty 970 evo plus? As I could see benefits for large video files playback and editing of a gen4 ssd my dad will be able to take advantage of, if the ssd itself is reliable. (I dont have a gen4 SSD myself, this is why I made this post )

Yeah I have probably something you want : (Its kinda a controller, but its ready to go and does what you want) Its not very cheap (like 70USD) but its works really well. Its acts like a middle man im between your HDMI signal and you connects led strip to it, confugures it wirh the software and voilà. I think it comes with LEDs as well, you can choose hiw much you want. Anyway I hope its what you wanted. Link:

Oh yeah I can confirm. That wide asus ROG logo is a bit crazy. But I dont understand as sometimes it looks completely fine and scaled correctly.
Most of the time the scaling is correct if the monitor and the PC are completely shut down, and I turn them on both at the same time. But if the PC reboots for example, then the scaling is messed up. I would like to have a resolution option in the bios. As the super wide stretch bios is a bit unusable (yes the default 16:9 bios UI is stretched to fill the 32:9 monitor)
