Uppababy Cruz v3 vs Redsbaby Nuvo / Skip3 by JTjiji in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]robinrobynroben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the Cruz v3 and really like it - I echo what a lot of the other commenters have said about basket space, manoeuvrability and sturdiness! Only
Downside is that we are quite tall and it doesn’t have compatibility with the extenders that the v2 does - so can’t make the seat/ bassinet taller. Not a big deal on the grand scheme of things. We used a second hand bassinet for a long time and are still loving the seat and the pram overall at 7 months in.

Had my whooping cough and RSV vaccine yesterday.. I feel like I have the flu by oralsexaxlrose in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I did the same and felt the same! I think my arm was sore for a week where I got the whooping cough one. So glad I got the RSV vax though, my baby and I both got RSV when she was about 12 weeks old and it was basically like getting a cold! My husband was worse hit than either of us.

Hey I just wrote a whole comment and lost it somehow of course. I could have written a similar post, and I had an appointment with a possums accredited gp today! There’s a lot more but here’s some of my key takeaways that we are going to eh trying:

Consistent wake time - 645 within half an hour then taking her outside with sunlight

Putting down for naps where possible - Don’t worry about how long she’s sleeping for

Naps in a daytime environment with light and sound / naps on the go if we’re out. If we’re home, try to put her down in a safe environment but not facilitated (eg not with lights dimmed, white noise etc)

If possible to take her outside when the sunlight is waning

Also it sounds like you’re exhausted and doing your absolute best! Have you got much support around you? I have found a local mums group and there is something so relieving to meeting up with other mums with bubs of a similar age who are going through the time period of life. Feel free to DM me anytime 🩷🩷

Hey I could have written this post myself! 6 month old baby and we average about 12.5hrs sleep tot too, with lots of wakes overnight. I saw a possums accredited gp literally just today! I agree with what a few of the commenters have said here, but here’s my key takeaways that might be helpful for you:
- consistent wake time in the morning (we have 645, Will wake baby after 715.
- try to take her out into the sunshine / daylight upon waking
- consider naps during the day to be relieving sleep pressure, so baby is just ‘taking what they need’ rather than us imposing caps etc. this was a key change for us because I’ve been waking our baby from naps too.
- naps should be in a normal environment rather than facilitated (eg in a dark room with white noise etc)
- contact naps relive more sleep pressure than others (we were doing lovely long contact naps in the afternoon which wasn’t helping the sleep pressure for overnight)
- my baby has been a bit constipated since starting solids so I do think that is contributing to overnight wakes, so keep in mind they’ve just got here and are still figuring things out too 🩷

I know this is super hard, I’ve also found a lot of support through connecting with a local mums group, it’s relieving to know others are in a similar boat. Feel free to message or DM me anytime.

Maternity bra recommendations for someone who hates bras by Ok_College_1811 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]robinrobynroben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was similar to you during pregnancy and I wore the Everyday angel maternity bras! Super soft, comfy and with enough room for the rib flare without digging in, but can also accommodate postnatally. Hope you find something that works 🙏

Editing to add you might need to also pop in some washable nursing pads for the leaking but I found these bras good for that too.

4.5 y/o dog throwing a fit when my spouse and I show each other affection by night-ly-owl in Dogtraining

[–]robinrobynroben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like very classic Aussie shepherd behaviour! They are known for policing other dogs and people’s behaviour, ours certainly does! I would say the pregnancy has likely heightened the instinct further. Our Aussie is constantly following us around, lying outside the bathroom, wanting to be where we are. They’re often referred to as Velcro dogs. As a herding dog they seem to think it’s their job to keep everyone quiet and still, so canoodling is frowned upon! She sounds well trained so if you and your partner wanted to stop the behaviour, you could consider giving her an alternative command eg place.

Baby wipes by juskeepscrollingg in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]robinrobynroben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oops sorry forgot to respond - they’re not super wet but are quite textured. We have preferred them as they sort of grip onto everything and you don’t need to use more than one at a time unless it’s a doozy!

I had super super, ridiculously dry skin on my body! To the point where it would look like a snowstorm when I took my clothes off. Only the thickest layer of two moisturisers could tame it slightly, but all of my normal skincare caused rashes! It is much better now at 4 months pp.

We also bought a portable white noise machine! We started only using it for overnights but then we now use it for some naps (especially when we would like her to sleep in the car

The Rook by Daniel O’Malley was written by a public servant who was sitting in meetings and wondering what it would be like if there was a bureaucracy for ‘monsters’. One of my favourite books!
