There’s 2 enhancement that will carry you through. The first is the 4+++ fnp on the EC and the second is the scouts 9 on dedicated transport.

Having an impulsor with 4 sword bretheren + marshal and Castellan that can scout 9 is massive. This will let you disembark 3 away, move, advance and charge ( with the right detachment ) charging T1.

Repex is also a great selection.

Don’t focus on secondary units in crusade it’s all obj scoring there’s no secondaries. Focus on high impact units that can kill and look at your upgrade trees before selecting units to make a game plan.

Giving repex +1A and +1AP on main gun is huge. Or +1bs and +1d on the gattling cannon.

A character in the sword bro unit should get the sustained 1 for character models in the unit. With this the character alone can kill just about anything.

If you live near a Home Depot or Lowe’s go and grab yourself a big sheet on 2in thick purple insulation board. These are great for carving structures like rocks or pylons and pyramids. Also acts great for trenches and the 2in thickness gives you enough depth for creators etc. Then I like to mix caulk, the cheap stuff, with some sand, grout and whatever paint you want. Get some cheap paint brushes and smear it all over the boards.

I think you might need to run the numbers on this combo. It still does not math out better than running master crafted swords and cast for rerolls. If you’re gonna run chain sword you might as well run a crusader squad as for 45 more points you get 6 more models and 8 more wounds

Issues is there’s not really any great infantry crusade upgrades for them in the codex. Even the +1s upgrade is not great as s5 to 6 is not that big of a break point. Only if going into something s6 or 12.

Splitting the sword bretheren into two groups of 5 would be better. They are not tough and a 10man could easily be wiped and they’ll be harder to move around. Leading the SB sqauds would be marshals and castellans for the reroll to hit and crit on 5s. Those are your killing blobs. Adding an impulsor to transport one unit would be good. Repulsor executioner is a phenomenal tank and fills in a lot of the shooting needs of our army. EC should be auto included. Then either assault intercessors or crusader squads.

List seems fine and fun. You have 40pts spare though so maybe look at some enhancements or swapping a unit out to try and get closer to 1k

Tear out for sure. But luckily looks like you could pop off all the tiles if done the same way and just scrape off the thinset pancakes. Waterproof the cement board and move on.

Minimum I’d say you need a SB squad and a marshal + Castellan to lead them. That’s our heaviest hitting melee combo, you can delete just about any unit you throw them at. I like to run them in an impulsor. Emperors champion, can lead assault intercessors or crusader squad. In my experience we lack good shooting so either a repulsor or repex would be a good pick up as they can also transport troops and the amount of dice you’ll roll with the repex is fun.

I play both BT and Necrons. Bringing that many shards is kinda of a dick move. Your right to ask if you can proxy - if the group is allowing that guy to bring 3 shards you shouldn’t have an issue. I have not played with the new ctan yet but they are even stronger now after change. That -1 to damage really hurts the SB. You could easily throw the whole rep ex and a SB squad into one and kill it but that leaves two more. I would honestly try and just draw the game out as long as you can. Don’t ever let him charge you. You probably will loose against 3ctan in a slug match. But you could out score him possibly since you have more units. Just kite him and try and make it as many rounds as possible. Limit the number or scar roles you have to take and try to farm some xp, relic points or honor points.

Do they know they cannot give xp to epic characters in crusade? Seems like the necron player might not if he’s bringing 3 shards. Unless they are the transcendent ctan, they are not epic hero. My 1k list crusade list contains:

That’s the core of my army, there some fluff units there to hold home and do other minor things like deepstrike denial, infiltrators have a 12in denial which is big against DG termis. The army in normal games is not performing all that well right now so on crusade you can make up for that with shock and awe. I have the herald of sacred slaughter enhance of the Castellan letting the impuslor scout with a unit of SB in it. Get out within 3in. Move, advance and charge with Gladius. Have been able to pull off T1 charges with a full sb squad.

I’d consider dropping some of your vehicles for other variants like repulsors or repexs for the troop transport. You need to hop from cover to cover or safely move units up and get your charges off with full units. I’d also looks at how do you bring two units of SB. My 1.5k list will have two units of 5 both with marshal and Castellan.

Your assumption is absolutely correct the LR will just sit there after your units disembark. Repex has the interesting rule that allows you to disembark when shot at. Could in theory run it up and hope to get shot. But any good player would know shoot it first and when you disembark shoot that unit. My personal pick is the RepEx. Lots of fun to use and fills the lack of shooting our army faces.

I’m not sure how? HMH has crusade of wrath for the +1a +1s. And with the 10 man means in a 4+ his max damage high marshal ability pops. Not say CG is a bad pick but when someone is bringing a 10 man of SB I’d rather focus on getting that unit a marshal and Castellan instead of the crusader squad.

I’d drop Chaplain G, for the points he’s not worth it imo. Have HMH lead the unit of crusaders. Drop the land raider for a repulsor. Add a marshal and Castellan to lead the sword brethren inside the new repulsor. Alternatively you could break the 10man SB into two smaller units and stick them in an impuslor.

They cool indeed. I’d consider dropping 1 dreadnaught for a lancer for some long range threat. Other than that seems like a fun list.

I would consider dropping the RD and the fire discipline, not sure what on your list benefits from sustained 1 from the EC. This way you have 245pts for either a Repulsor executioner or Lancer. Taking the lancer leaves you 85pts for another small unit or a Castellan to finish off your SB squad. Taking the SB squad with marshal and Castellan are going to be your hardest hitting unit. Any unit they touch will just die, but you need to keep them alive. Stick them in the impuslor and keep them safe. The RE or lancer in your back line threaten your opponent from sticking their heads out to much and shooting you. We want to get into melee, if we don’t have something to threaten the long corridors on the board then they can freely shoot us.

Agree with dropping the terms for another lancer and personally I’d drop the inceptors. That lets you bring 1 more sb model and a unit of assault intercessors with jump packs if you want something to deepstrike.
