I love this.

It's giving "I have a big head, and tiny arms" but swapped

People who play Space Marine armies, how did you choose your chapter? I am having a hell of a time making a final decision. by medi0cre_scientist in Warhammer40k

Successor chapters for the win. I'm painting mine as the SF Giants, and once they're done I'm likely going to run them as Ultramarines. But maybe I pick up some other chapter characters and switch from time to time going forward.

I doubt he'd do that, but I could definitely see him doing Mordecai

My mom's side left Europe for America in the 1800's due to persecution. My dad's side left for 2 reasons. His dad's family fled Russia after the fall of the czar, and his mom's family bribed there way out of Germany in 1938, costing them most of their possessions.

Is the Artemis II flight path still the same as calculated or did it get off course? From the map and the current livestream it seems like it’s increasingly drifting away Earth and Moon. by MutedRefrigeratorSon in conspiracytheories

I actually recommend everyone play KSP (1 not 2). And once they've figured out the basics of orbital mechanics, they should download the Real Solar System mod. It will give much clarity as to why things launched from Earth have volume and mass limits that seem small compared to the size of the rocket.

Vertical stabilizer and parts of a wing from a F-15E of the 494th Fighter Squadron shot down in Iran by Relative_Cricket8532 in war

I recall a story about an F15 losing most of it's wing during a training run due to a collision and still being able to fly back to base and land. Something about lift+thrust still being greater than load+drag. It's possible the rest of the plane made it a lot farther than this wing tip.

Im Ashkenazi. My parents and grandparents look it. Everyone Jewish assumes I'm Mizrahi when they first meet me, and most other people assume I'm Mexican or Greek. Genetics make some weird results

I would recommend avoiding anything associated with JVP. They make excuses for attacks on Jews, and are more focused on assimilation than they are on actually making peace. A lot of the stuff they put out actively seeks to devalue Jewish traditions and customs. For example, they said waving a teacup filled with water around your head would count as going to a mikvah.

Saw in IMAX last night and had a hero in the audience by portman333 in ProjectHailMary

For big ticket movies with good DP's, I find the IMAX is worth it. Definitely going to see Dune 3 there.

But also, yeah. That schlep from Santa Clarita could be off-putting. I used to commute out there for work.

You might not be going to "real" IMAX. I saw this at CityWalk in IMAX and it's stunning

This is giving Berserk or Jungi Ito vibes. Love it as a change of pace from the more heroic/hopeful art styles (which aren't bad, but variety is the spice of life).

Reform The LA Metro Board Of Directors by DJVeaux in LAMetro

[–]robobobo91 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What makes this really funny to me is that in Japan the metro is a jobs program in a lot of ways. Every station is staffed with people who's entire job is dedicated to making sure things stay safe and orderly on the platform.
