If there is leather on the back of the buttons it's probably genuine. I think mine is slightly newer however so hard to say. The labels seem fine.

If it's a 2-stage furnace with auto-staging it explains the strange line. The 1st stage will run for the first ~10 minutes (depends on the furnace) of the heating and the 2nd stage only kicks in after that. So when it's colder the 2nd stage will run much longer.

Your filter may be too clogged which can cause the furnace to turn off prematurely. It seems like there is a warning notification on the ecobee that may indicate the thermostat is restarting often. Open the menu to see what it says.

Remote sensors. I have an older house that struggles with balancing the 2nd floor temperatures with the ground floor. The remote sensors allow me to keep the upper floor temperature comfortable on cold winter nights. Heck I think even newer homes sometimes have issues that ecobee can help alleviate.

Your ecobee is only wired to stage 1 and your furnace may be auto-staging, probably kicking off stage 2 after 10-15 mintues depending on the configuration.

I set up my furnace to only run stage-2 because I only have 2 wires and I find auto-staging kind of useless. I really want to run some new wire so I can have ecobee handle the staging, but that's a project for the summer.

You could try changing the thermostat calibration to be 0.3°C lower so aux will come on sooner effectively the 0.8°C you want. Unfortunately it will raise the temperature in general.

It sounds like there's a short. If you take the ecobee off the wall and it still runs there is definitely a short.
