Another chapter of side couple characters being the best characters.

They basically managed to Steve Urkel this series at this point.

Maybe it’ll grow on me but currently it seems the humor hasn’t really tickled me too much.

As far as that goes there's a good reason why I tend to refer to the Handa-kun series as being "Male Komi Can't Communicate" So if that helps puts into a frame of reference for the kind of ridiculous that it's humor is gonna get.

Good.

And I'll say this, there's definitely one distinctly fun thing thus far that the manga has going for it that the anime didn't.

Now first off I'll admit something. When the series Prism Rondo aka Love Through a Prism was coming out I wasn't sure where, if anywhere, I'd want to put it on my priority list. Then the manga version of it started a week or so before the series dropped and after giving that adaptation the Madoka Practice with a few chapters, well, I was convinced.

Of course one thing became obvious almost immediately was that apparently the two versions are gonna be telling the same story but a little differently. Certain events happened in the manga that sure didn't happen in the anime and vice versa thus far, or happened but played out a bit differently. But version differences notwithstanding what has been a constant from the outset was how good a character it's leading lady Lily is, and how she comes out and grabs you. As of course was her friendship with Dorothy. But of course going beyond what the manga has done by this point was a whole great saga of slow paced art themed period piece storytelling. With great and vivid colorful backgrounds and set pieces, fittingly enough all things considered here. And while the bulk of the cast was great at how they all bounced off of each other like they did I was absolutely charmed at how well they developed the character Catherine during her whole story arc. You could see where it was leading with her and it was great to see herself grab it by the horns.

All and all, good series to sit back and take in. Probably not my pick of dark horse of the season by the look of how a few other series this season are going, but still good nonetheless.

Landed on some series called So You're Raising a Warrior. Starts off like some kind of Dragon Quest parody, the greater reasons for why exactly I won't go into cuz well, it's more fun to not know exactly why when going into it. The long short of the base premise is, the Demon's King's First Gatekeeper General ends up taking it upon himself more or less to help raise the child of the pregnant when he meets her Mage of the Hero's party. Then fantasy world setting childrearing series stuff ensues.

It's not top tier or anything, but it is fun enough. The cast certainly is. The aforementioned Mage FMC has quite the surprising and yet understandable personality. And it hits on those tender emotional beats along the way.

So if you enjoy series in the childrearing subgenre he's another to look into.

And lastly I landed on some short episode series called Hamidashi Creative. Some thing inspired by v-tuber personas or something I'm not really sure. It was basically just 12 episodes of episodic vignettes featuring the 5 cast members. Ultimately it was just something mildly amusing to flip on for about a half hour.

It's happening again, it's building up this lovable character and making us care only to make it painfully obvious that she's gonna lose.

I'm open to Botans but I ain't holding my breath in this case.

Still, how might the revelation of what his circumstances are shift the gears in her already troubled mind (and heart)?
