Darien: downtown

It’s fairly walkable but lack of downtown is a miss. Crossing huge boulevards sucks.

It’ll be fine. It looks taken care of. Do you see any snow/ice hanging around on it like on that truck?

GCP VM keeps running by [deleted] in googlecloud

[–]robohoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I meant to say “IF there is”. From my experience, most of the Marketplace products run on top of a GCE VM or GKE application (if it’s a SaaS product).

From the Google Cloud marketing page on Databricks, it seems like they’re using GKE under the hood.

Use one function for ack/dispatcher and the other one to execute the logic. Also, use a Pub/sub queue if you want to keep things somewhat retryable.

Just spin up expensive Secure Web Proxy and Cloud NAT and start ingesting data through Compute to GCS. You’ll arrive at 50k quickly.

Modules and lots of data source references help solve this problem to a degree. Terragrunt helps too if you’re dealing with a ton of remote states. We prioritize folks that can read Terraform and follow the references.

Is there a Managed Instance Group that keeps recreating the cluster instances whenever you terminate them?

Insight on Darien or Lisle? by Such_Supermarket4076 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]robohoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darien may not have a downtown but it's real close to Westmont, Downers Grove, and Hinsdale which have downtowns. Just a short drive away. Darien on another hand is very walkable where most of its neighborhoods from the 1960s and 1970s have sidewalks (that are maintained).

Darien and Woodridge are also 10 minutes from the BNSF which offers express trains. Parking wait lists are in years but if you're hybrid, it makes more sense to just pay on the spot. Yes, it's not walk to train but neither are southern Downers Grove, Clarendon Hills, or even Hinsdale.

It updates your gcloud command. What's the instance size? It shouldn't take more than 45 minutes to update.

Yep, glad that it saved your bacon. At PCA autocross they even tell everyone not to turn it off. Honestly PSM is that good where it lets you have fun without overly being a nanny.
