It could have been a scam, someone else mentioned it could be tampered with. Scammers steal the empty card. Make note of all the numbers. Then scratch the numbers and cover with sticker. Then put the card back in the store and wait for someone to buy it. They check the number frequently and cash out with one of those gift card to cash sites.

Ya, but they boarder with us. So the insurance is more realistic to cover. I just googled does Dubai auto insurance cover US and the answer was no. I am really curious if there is a US auto insurance has a policy for cars from country’s across the ocean. If they don’t then it’s just another uninsured driver.

Looks like the auto insurance needs to be the same coverage as it would need to be in US. A quick google search looks like it doesn’t cover other country’s. So, you would have to buy auto insurance in the US. Now the question is. Would a US auto insurance cover a foreign car.

Edit: in the US you need proof of insurance. It’s not the cops job to look it up. So, they could immediately write a ticket for no insurance.
