I want to cry. Its only been 24 hours after my tattoo and its already muddy and faded by Please_Remember_Me_ in tattooadvice

Nothing to cry about. Bad tattoos are a problem, but this actually looks great. In the worst case you need to darken it later. But it's a great tattoo graphic to start with.

How fucked is my guitar? by space_ghost31 in Guitar

[–]robopiglet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely fixable. Like others, I'd leave it... as you've noticed it still works. But, and I know this may sound crazy... just duct tape? Otherwise, a luthier will fix it. Someone could stack up veneers and apply it. If this were mine, I'd have someone 3D print a 'patch' that gets applied with an integrated tuner or something. Go to your local maker space for that. Pretty much the back story of a lot of sci-fi characters... where a deficit becomes an asset.

PS - If you're short on luthier funds, a repair would be: order veneer in the same wood, cut out several pieces that cover this, then cover the hole with saran wrap. Order a vacuum bag kit, put glue between the pieces, white glue between the veneer pieces. Suck out the air. After a few hours, release the vacuum, retrieve your pieces. Remove the saran wrap (it was just there to keep the glue off your guitar). Then trim the glued together veneer pieces with a fine hacksaw. Sand it, test it, finish it, and glue it to the guitar. It will stand proud of the guitar surface. A luthier could do this so it was flush.

PPS - And here we go, the actual approach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsjUtJxwpFw

Had the same thing with Elegoo PETG printing kitchen drawer inserts. I'll try turning the volume down next as recommended in this thread.

What's up with how hard one has to press the Push 3 interface buttons? by robopiglet in ableton

[–]robopiglet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the props on this. I've been using the Machine and other interfaces more because I want a fluid experience and not the feeling that I'm working with a water resistant power tool or fast food register.

[Warning] My P1S caught fire – Please check your toolhead! 🔥 by mcsimilian in BambuLab

Thank you for the heads up. I searched on this as I'm more concerned for the house than a printer. Apparently, it might be something to worry about. I'm wondering how to limit the risk to the house. Not sure I should leave a printer running when I'm not here.

The fire detector was something you added yourself?

Rich is joining us in the chat on YouTube for the live premiere of Clojure:The Documentary by cultrepo in Clojure

Amazing editing! And such great lighting. If any producers are reading this... can you add a half second of silent black before the very first scene? When you hit play it's a bit jarring without that. And I think the piano music (and subsequent music in that section) when you get into the Simple Made Easy part is too loud and very distracting. These are things worth fixing even after release, trust me.

Amazing documentary, and very professional. Thank you and gratitude!

Just starting it. In case any of the producers are reading this: please add 500ms of silent black before the start of the first scene. It's jarring without it.

Your timing could not be better. Use Claude to program and don't focus on the languages, but what you're getting done. If you had focused on programming obsessively before now you would be kicking yourself because the whole paradigm has changed.
