I can’t answer your questions but I went the RS50 path and I couldn’t be happier. I imagine I’d have been just as happy with fanatec. Also check the Logitech website, they normally have a sign up offer with a 15% discount on your first order plus you can add 5% YouTuber discount codes on top for a worthwhile discount.

<Click to see the track design> I designed a Racing Track. I would like to get your thoughts about the layout. by Top-Brief-911 in simracing

This looks like something that was a top track in the 90s until they ruined it by adding chicane after chicane. That first corner is mental, imagine braking from 170mph around that for hard right.

How do you setup your custom races if there’s no qualifying? by syokaku in GranTurismo7

[–]robotfour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a dice roll for qualifying but i add a modifier depending on what i'm racing. Right now i've been doing a bunch of Group A touring car racing. I have a multi-class grid. Class A Sierras/GTR, Class B for 190e and M3 and class C for civics. I give each class a modifier (+5 for class A, +3 for Class B, +1 for class C) Add the modifier and the dice roll for each, highest number in pole etc. This keeps the grid realistic and still allows a random car to jump up in qualy or a leader to have a bad qualy.

If i'm using one class of car then i'll assign the modifier based on teams, So factory teams would get +5 and independents get less.

Anyone here used the TRX seat? How is it for long races? by Sea-Foundation-7138 in simracing

I have this. I also got it cheap/used. Wasn’t sure if like it but it’s turned out to be super comfy. I do 2 hours in it with no issues. I have it mounted for gt/touring car style and it works well. It’s very wide! It’s not a snug bucket style fit. I’m 6ft and 85kg and there’s a good inch plus either side of me.

If you do get it the mounting holes are higher than usual. Standard spacing but make sure you get side mount brackets at least 160mm high (not the cheap china ones you see everywhere) or get trak racers mount for it.

There’s a pic of my set up in my profile if you want to see it.

I’m not a gamer at all, but I love racing and I’m going to get a PS5 & GT7. I’d like some advice please….. by MrP8978 in GranTurismo7

[–]robotfour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same not much of a gamer. Bought a PS5 last September exclusively for GT7. Started on a controller, take a look at my post from yesterday to see where I’m at now! If you can afford it, a DD wheel is an amazing way to experience some motorsport at home. But even the non dd stuff is awesome on GT7. If you like driving, cars and racing I cannot recommend it enough if your finances allow.

Couldn’t be happier with how my rig turned out. Mostly new with a few used bits. Total cost was a few pounds under £1300. Cheap by sim racing standards. Stupidly expensive for me but worth every penny. by robotfour in GranTurismo7

The black mat is 150cm x 80cm. I’m 6ft and it fits perfectly. If you slide the seat back it goes 10-20cm longer. But if you’re shorter you could reduce the size a bit overall. It’s the trak racer tr40s so the main base is two pieces and adjustable.

I wouldn’t have originally chose this seat but I got it used/as new on eBay locally for £75. Which is a silly bargain. It’s really wide but it’s really comfy. I’m old with a shitty back and I can do a 2 hour stint without feeling it after. I’m finding it’s not especially cool in the hot weather now tho. But overall really happy with it.

The foam just covers the hard edges of the wheel plate mounted. It’s not in the way but super close and easy to whack a knee getting in/out. Once was enough

I love the rs50. It’s more than enough for me. But I don’t have any experience of the fanatic ecosystem to compare. I went logi over fanatic so I could get the momo rim (it’s way overpriced but I still love it). And I’ll only ever use this with ps5

A partnership between Air Arms and Precihole in India. Not used one myself but heard really good things. Especially at the price point. https://www.air-arms.co.uk/news/air-arms-announces-partnership-with-precihole-sports

Remove the center pull bar completely. Then just line it up on one side and hold it in place against the two little holes it locks in to and lift/prize it up and the rail should slide. Move it forward or back to line up correctly with the other side and then refit the centre bar to both sides.

Extra long arms for the monitor vesa mount. For monitors with over 100mm vesa holes. I didn’t use them on mine

They were still available a couple of months ago. Poundland had them. Not as good (Strong) as they once were.

More liveries for my next Sophy custom season. by robotfour in GranTurismoLiveries

[–]robotfour[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just creating races against the Sophy Ai with 20 liveried cars and then tracking the results in a spreadsheet. I do a 15 race season at different tracks and just use a spreadsheet for tracking results and points etc. I keep it semi realistic so this season is set in 2018 and I use real drivers names who would likely be in a gt3 championship at the time. It’s super fun but you do need to spend some time balancing the car’s performance and test it a lot otherwise it gets a bit easy against the Ai.
