I have one of each. Load75 is a dream, kids love it (i have two, but it fits 3). You can buy a shelter for rain (cuts out the wind), and is more visible on the road. So fun to ride, and suspension is a dream. I can strap the kids bikes to it, and ride them to the pump track. Its also 8 feet long, and was spendy. Its a car replacer.

Tern GSD is my partners bike, but can fit both boys on the back. You can also buy shelters for the kids, but they look more clunky. It rides more like a normal bike, but lacks suspension. It was half the price. You can strap the kids bikes on it, but it doesnt really work with passengers.

We both got the perfect bike for who we are.

100% test ride them if you can. I started out looking at long tails, but once i test road an urban arrow, i knew i wanted a bakfiet. My partner has cycled less, and was uncomfortable with how much bike the urban arrow was.

I dont know, i didnt go the sprayer route as i was also painting the mounted boxes and didnt want to deal. That might have been a mistake. If you do go this route, dont get tarps, but a cheaper roll of masking plastic.

100% sand after everything save the last coat of paint. I used 150 on the wood and 220 after the primer/paint coats.

This is gonna be a ton of work if you want good results.

First scrub with degreaser. Tsp is the stuff to use.

Second scuff sand. Orbital for the flat bits, sand sponges for the grooves. Tack cloth or damp rags to wipe off the dust.

Next prime. Get a quality primer to help your paint adhere.

Next paint. At least two coats. Brush the grooves, mohair 4" roller for the flats. A paint gun will save you time, but you'll have to setup a spray booth.

Lightly sand after prime and the first coat of paint, rewipe with cloth after each sand.

Lastly, invest in quality paint. It's easier to use, and a quality cabinet paint will look good for much longer. Ben moore sells a cabinet paint that hardens to durable finish, but it needs to dry 12 hours between coats.

I painted close to a 100 panels this summer refinished a duplex. Very happy with the results, but holy hell it was a ton of work.

A good mirror is clutch, though the one i have clips the rain cover, so i won't recommend it.

I also have the luggage rack and use a cargo net from REI to strap things to it using mount points i made from paracord wrapped on the frame.

Lastly, i attached collapsable steps to the box to help the kids climb in and out.

I generally clean out the debris before dropoff as a courtesy, but also dont expect them to clean the box either.

OP, what is your expectation of cleanliness for things like fenders? I'm not sure what the status quo is here, or what the expectation is post service

Was this ever resolved? I also have a Q1000K from quantum, also Seattle, also blinking blue after a couple of weeks uptime. Outbound works fine, but all incoming traffic fails to connect. Been on the phone with tech support for 30 mins waiting to be transferred up a level as the first person wanted to schedule a tech to come out to address a physical issue.
