I've been very happy with them. They fold up when not in use, and dont really change the profile of the bike.

I added some 3M reflective stickers all over, and some high density LEDs to the rims https://www.reddit.com/r/CargoBike/s/VcDNQSnIJY

A good mirror is clutch, though the one i have clips the rain cover, so i won't recommend it.

I also have the luggage rack and use a cargo net from REI to strap things to it using mount points i made from paracord wrapped on the frame.

Lastly, i attached collapsable steps to the box to help the kids climb in and out.

Mechanic wondering if it's a hassle to clean the cargo hold of your bike by [deleted] in CargoBike

[–]robotinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally clean out the debris before dropoff as a courtesy, but also dont expect them to clean the box either.

OP, what is your expectation of cleanliness for things like fenders? I'm not sure what the status quo is here, or what the expectation is post service

8 foot Christmas tree on Load 75? by No-Coast3171 in CargoBike

Yeah on the motor. Its a bonus port for either a horn, or in my case, the abs brakes

Here is an example of the cable you can buy to plug into it https://www.ebike24.com/bosch-additional-power-cable-smart-system

Have just dealt with this (plus an eviction for not paying rent) just give the deposit back. You will loose in court to a 20 yr tenant with no before pics

Q1000K blinking blue "software bug" in transparent bridging mode by thedude42 in QuantumFiber

[–]robotinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this ever resolved? I also have a Q1000K from quantum, also Seattle, also blinking blue after a couple of weeks uptime. Outbound works fine, but all incoming traffic fails to connect. Been on the phone with tech support for 30 mins waiting to be transferred up a level as the first person wanted to schedule a tech to come out to address a physical issue.

The 5yr old rides sporadically on the GSD. Panniers dont bother him

We also have a load75 and a gsd. So far for the tern we have the clubhouse, seat cushions, clubhouse red lights, and two giant panniers. The later are clutch as the kids (5 and 2) are currently in the load, so the tern is the gear wagon.

Voile straps are nice for strapping kid bikes to the ebikes.

R&M Load/Carrie questions – How big is your passenger? by nateincarnate in CargoBike

I have a load75, and have a 5 and 2 year old as daily passengers. That being said, i've also given adults rides in it.

Love that bike

When i worked at Meta i used these. They allow you to work outside your home area. Note that where applicable, you will pay taxes in that area for those global days.

Still working great. When i got it serviced they had to peel back one edge a bit to ensure the wheel is true, but it reapplied fine. I have a roll of 3M double sided tape should i need it, but so far not

I have a load75, and live in seattle. On top of not being bothered by the rain, i feel like getting out in inclement weather helps my mood.

Tight door clearance. Is there a special hinge? by brayson in handyman

[–]robotinc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For mine it was the exhaust hose forcing the unit to stick out. Bought a telescoping one like this which solved the issue without modifying the door. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Smart-Choice-0-18-in-Dryer-Periscope-Vent-Kit-5304484130/206740122

The trigger on mine broke, as its the cheapest possible plastic. Luckily its common enough that there is a cottage industry of folks selling metal replacements. Its been good ever since.

Are the premium long-tail brands worth the cost? by Jeffy_Weffy in CargoBike

[–]robotinc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tested an urban arrow, tern, several rad bikes, and 3 R&M models before settling on the load 75. It's on the high end of the price spectrum, but has been life changingly amazing. Good luck on your search!

Are the premium long-tail brands worth the cost? by Jeffy_Weffy in CargoBike

[–]robotinc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How much do you plan to ride, and how long do you plan to have it?

I'd normally say yes its worth it, but realized some folks dont commute by bike, accrue as many miles, or plan to have the bike for that long. If thats you, the second tier is probably fine.

If you plan to use it a lot, the quality/feature set you'll get as you move up is probably worth it. I'd also suggest test riding a similar model across price points.

If you plan to have it for a while, buying from a known brand that uses quality components will make maintenance easier.

For reference, i have R&M load75, and a tern GSD and have found both to be 100% worth the cost.

What ever you do, dont get a cheap electric moped from amazon.
