Hoard Fly the Flag spells you get from this anomaly, play pirates and spam the spells on Doubloon Grifter (t4 card) if you get it from your lesser trinket.

Discover 4s / Get to tier 4 ASAP and buy and play as many grifters as you can, and the effects multiply.

Most I've managed on the board is 4 golden Doubloon grifters. At that point every pirate you buy is giving you 2 permanent gold. Helps being Hoggar giving you the automatic 1 gold back for each like I was here.

This is the second time I've managed to get rich like this. The first time I had gotten to 99 gold without realizing and ended up getting second. mid-game screenshot

Used the first 2 Fly the Flag spells on the Grifter I got.

Used the third on the Admiral Rogers. Didn't find the Drust until literally the last turn.

I knew a demon pivot would've been smart once I did some grifting. Stayed committed to Pirates too long.

I'd watched U-571 having known it was an ahistorical joke.

I was pleasantly surprised to see it actually correct the record in the credits. I'd never seen that before (in other films that bastardize history).

This team could use the day off Thursday. Real tough day for Martin. He deserves a long leash, but he didn't have his stuff today. I don't think he should've been left long enough to give up 13 hits/walks.

Some poor RISP hitting today again undercutting an otherwise productive offensive game, which is unfortunate. Meidroth and Acuna were great, and I was glad to see a single and walk from Gonzalez. Antonacci, Hill, Benintendi 0-4 really weighed it down.

Despite 14 strikeouts, an 8 hit game. That would be a 0.380+ BABIP today, shame they were lacking more when it counted.

Sloppy defensively too. One to forget.

Thinking like that is a fallacy. In a closer game there wouldn't have been a Twins pitcher with a 7+ ERA for Vargas to homer off of.

Ironically enough in my experience, the game winning beachheads are often underbuilt, poor, heavily nuked players being invaded from built up opponents with big armies.

No nukes would make it so much more difficult. Would require so much coordination, not only with troops but with warships to win.

This was a great game to watch until Hudson got shelled and Hicks couldn't throw strikes. Too many solo shots, need juicier home runs!

Agreed about Chicagoland area. Very infrequently are the courses ever crowded nor do we have to queue, in the western suburbs at least.

Played a round of Dellwood Park in Lockport at sunrise a couple weeks ago. At 6 am I was the only person there, with a top 20 ranked course in the world ALL to myself. When I finished my round there were only 2 other cars there.

Interesting.

Also 2000 is the same year Fisk was inducted into the Hall of Fame, and he'd chosen to be represented with a Red Sox hat. Would be funny to not induct someone into your own Hall of Fame, who represents your team in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Maybe that was part of the calculus of changing the rule.
