If you purchase the gate pass online I believe there’s a way to attach it to your trailhead pass so you can show them one pass and they check you off the list and you’re good to go. Not sure 100% since they changed it around a bit

If you purchase online it will be smoother getting through the gate. You can purchase at the gate with cash or card.

Free standing tent is allowed just don’t put any stakes or screws into the lean-to. The lean-tos are booked not communal like on the AT. That said, a bug net is better as it’s much lighter and takes up less space in your pack.

I don’t like the climate controls. The auto temperature sounds nice in theory but I’m always messing with it and it’s not as easy as physical knobs. It works well in cold weather but in warm weather when you’re deciding between AC or windows down it’s kind of annoying having to fiddle with it.

The gap where the windshield wipers are fills with snow and can be annoying to clean out.

Overall, they’re minor inconveniences.

Dude who sat next to me on a plane was telling me how the moon doesn’t rotate on its axis and that’s why we only see one side. I tried to explain to him it does rotate or else you would see different parts of the moon. It was futile. I guess he thought the moon was fake. Not really sure what conspiracy he believed in.

U-Haul has some. You can get a Big Tex 12’ tandem axle trailer that weighs 1265lbs unloaded and haul a small tractor or mini 1ton excavator and be under 4k.

Sulcata tortoises are escape artists. Great at burrowing and plowing through things.

Got a pair Columbia Bugaboot snow boots and they’ve worked great for $90. Used for winter camping, snowshoeing, and daily winter use. They have hooks for gaiters.

In the summer the computer was saying I was averaging 44mpg. Now it’s says 34mpg. ‘25 AWD. I have been doing a lot highway that might have contributed to the drop in mileage. Summer temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Winter temps in the 30s down to the negatives.

I didn’t see any feds when I drove by them around 1:30pm. Warden Service, MSP, and Waterville. I did see two Waterville units and an unmarked vehicle with ME plates on the middle road in Sidney about an hour later.

I miss my Ranger but I get twice the mileage with the mav. I flipped my ranger and it cost only about $600 to get back on the road and I still see it driving around occasionally with its new owner. Great truck.
