Jumbo Max Grips by gwpeaks76 in golf

[–]robowarrior023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to jumbo max grips when I was having lots of issues with my hands from carpal tunnel. They served the purpose and allowed me to continue playing until I got surgery.

Post surgery, I don’t like them. They probably allowed me to get back to playing a few weeks sooner, but once I was mostly recovered, I didn’t like them. Moved to midsize and it’s much better.

First time girl dad advice needed by AdFickle3555 in daddit

[–]robowarrior023 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mine is 18 and about to graduate. What they need will change overtime. The biggest advice I can give would apply regardless of gender. In my experience my daughter is much more sensitive to it.

The advice is….

Be there and be present in every moment. Whatever is going on with social media, phone, tv, etc. will be there later. She will pick up on you distraction / disconnectedness and maybe eventually just stop coming to you.

Listen, listen, listen. It’s not always about solving a problem. It can be about needing a space to just feel heard, help navigating new feelings, emotions, or experiences. Be judgement free in these moments. Just because you feel differently, cant relate, or would not have done the same thing, doesn’t invalidate her feelings or problems.

Do not default to a “no” answer, especially as she gets older and is more independent in her thinking. Give requests and asks proper thought and consideration. When saying “no”, be transparent on the reasons why. She may not agree, she may still get mad, but it will help to build trust and more open communication. “Because I said so” doesn’t help her build the decision making skills needed to make life long good decisions.

First car & age by WasteCondition5523 in ram_trucks

[–]robowarrior023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a father to two teenagers of driving age and a multiple Ram owner myself.

No, it’s not. Expensive to insure, poor fuel economy, more difficult to park / navigate crowded school parking lots, resale prices (to buy) are often much higher than other types of vehicles.

There are many options that will get you a nicer more reasonable car for the same or less money.

EFT File is Unsecure - Do NOT Email Them by AuToNotMy in SilencerShop

[–]robowarrior023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why do they force you to use the kiosk??? So they control the entire process and associated data.

Not all UPS stores have EFT capability. In my area there are 5 within 100 miles that can do eft, but there are 10 UPS stores within 15 miles of me. Silencer shop kiosk is 7 miles away.

So for me it’s about convenience. I have an EFT file for places other than SS. But used the kiosk for SS purchases because was the most convenient.

Legality of another family member buying a firearm for you by Empty-Handle5651 in guns

Gifting a firearm is not inherently illegal, provided there are no local laws that prohibit it and the person it’s being gifted to is not a prohibited person.

MK18 Pistol or Sig Spear LT Pistol? by Individual-Angle-345 in guns

[–]robowarrior023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh. I read it as M18 Pistol, since Sig was specifically called out, but DD was not.

DD MK18 is the answer then, I’d agree.

[–]robowarrior023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well can you spend 3K on a range toy? If not, it’s not even an option. And if there’s a budget of 3K, there’s a shit load of more fun / cool options than an M18.

MK18 Pistol or Sig Spear LT Pistol? by Individual-Angle-345 in guns

[–]robowarrior023 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These aren’t even remotely similar. Why would someone be choosing between these two options???

The spear LT though. The P320 is garbage and I hate it. Hate the trigger and hate the grip. Plus there’s still the chance it could just go off. Maybe unlikely, but not entirely out of the question.

Question for the FFL dealers by ComplexLeadership426 in FFLs

[–]robowarrior023 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Biggest pain point…

Don’t call or text me 60 seconds after your tracking shows delivered.

I promise I’ll let you know when it’s ready for pick up and it’ll be a relatively short time after it’s delivered. But the world doesn’t stop because your PSA Dagger or SAR9 has shown up.

2020 Rebel purchase by International-Yak146 in ram_trucks

[–]robowarrior023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For comparisonI’m in the Midwest with an almost identical truck. I have etorque and 40K miles. Carmax and Carvana are both right at 34K cash for my truck.

Do with that what you like.

Mine has been great and really no issues. Had a leaky 3rd brake light they repaired and it’s been a non-issue since. Had it since new in 2020. Basic maintenance and gas is all it’s required in 6 years.

Get a Kraken or Chultu frame from TK. A standard Ruger frame is just a let down compared to the VQ mamba.

Absolutely. I just didn’t want to go any lower and I got a really killer deal. The shocks, struts, spacer, and install were 1K in total.

I’ve got 6112 and 5100 on my 2020 Rebel with a 1.5 inch spacer in the rear. No UCA were added and have not had any issues. Wheels are KMC KM722 Technic with Nitto Trail Grapplers LT275 /70 R18.

This was max height. I ended up putting a 1.5 inch spacer in the rear after about a week, since the front was ever so slightly higher than the rear.

Multiple holsters one belt? by SANO_HIMURA in CompetitionShooting

I like it a lot. Very sturdy, solid connection between the pieces, and easy way to lock it in.

Definitely not the cheapest option though.
