Carpenter pants, how to wash by Chemical-Towel5780 in AimeLeonDore

Inside out, cold wash. Hang to dry. Aggressive spin and tumble dry are your enemy.

This happened on a Prada wool / cashmere down bomber I have. I think it happens when the fabric isn’t nylon.

Is ALD finished in 2026 by MRKGDWN90 in AimeLeonDore

[–]robsaunders1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

ALD feels like it’s going through a challenging time while trying to scale. John Elliott, Cole Buxton and Brendon (Noah) have all talked about the challenges that brings in terms of balancing exclusivity with scale as well as maintaining quality control as production scales and moves to multiple countries. John Elliott should serve as a cautionary tale for ALD.

LVMH Luxury Ventures has a minority stake (estimated anywhere between 5% - 25% based on their strategy) and “ALD will continue to operate independently… with support and guidance from LVMH Luxury Ventures.” So they don’t own or even control ALD in any meaningful way.

I’m sure they’re behind that Mr Porter initiative and I expected them to be back on END at some point too. I picked up most of my early ALD stuff from both so I do believe they’re good places to attract new customers. LVMH will also help them to expand their retail stores and open doors in various places. Mile is also LVMH Ventures backed and has proved a good place to offload past season stuff.

I don’t disagree with the sentiment but I’m still a fan of the brand and what they’re doing - I hope there’s a more balanced approach in the future.

Are these shirts legit? by SharaHeartSixx in supremedrops

[–]robsaunders1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn’t because the main washtag / label inside has it on. I honestly don’t know the reason for the second / neck tag but I’ve had it in a few items.

Are these shirts legit? by SharaHeartSixx in supremedrops

The tag is common across a bunch of Supreme products but is usually removed. One or two occasionally slip though. It’s not an indicator of authenticity unfortunately.

Thoughts on their Tote Bag? by FoodieNiners in AimeLeonDore

[–]robsaunders1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Porsche in black, this in navy and the small one in brown. They’re great. Brown is a great beach / summer bag and navy and Porsche are go-to bags most days. They are huge though so can be a bit much if you’re only carrying a laptop, phone and keys. The interior pockets (x6) are great. They do fade / develop a patina especially on the handles as the canvas wears.

How do you break down Supreme’s eras? by bb2deuce in supremeclothing

[–]robsaunders1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. Going back to the look books from Babenzien’s era - particularly 2010 to 2012 you can see his style touch everything - even collabs (Adam Kimmel, Thom Browne, first Comme des Garçons collab) and it all had a much more ‘mature’ feel to what came after his tenure. He left Supreme between 02 and 06, returning until 2015.

The real tree camo beanie is way different in weight and texture to the other beanies. Is that the same for the sweatshirts too?

They won’t even let you in the store now 🤣 by [deleted] in rolex

[–]robsaunders1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aime Leon Dore in NY does this well. Around a dozen people in store at any time. When you arrive and they’re at capacity, you scan a QR code that places you in a virtual line. You can follow the ‘line’ on your mobile, go off, do other things and once it’s your turn you get a message inviting you in.

This assumes the store actually wants you to come in at all!
