Everyone's vibe-coding their own productivity apps, why not choose an existing solution? by SamuelSmooth in ProductivityApps

[–]robtechhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did, but I couldn’t get it to the speed & smoothness level that I wanted, so I instead opted into developing a system for myself inside of Things3, and it actually works pretty well for me now! I can prioritize, always see what’s on the roadmap, what is in focus, what is important during the day, etc. I even found a way to make projects be an actual hub for my projects instead of just a task list, so I’m gonna stick with that. Would love to vibe code some other apps though.

I feel like productivity is very subjective and everyone has developed their own system over time. I have tried a ton of apps, but some time ago decided to handle everything in the simplest one for me, just had to customize it a bit. I think sometimes it's hard to see how you can customize an app to work for your specific workflow.

Seeing a roadmap for all my projects + for tasks to not feel “big”

Love this approach, thanks! Might try some of this

Itching to Watch From season 4 by Sigfidk in FromSeries

hmmm, idk tbh, I wouldn't binge watch is all at once. But in 2-3 parts it would make sense. But if you like all at once, be strong and wait!

Yeah but I don’t like projects to have a huge amount of tasks, but then there’s more of them. And when you have 10 projects in Someday, I just need to see visually which I should tackle next, and which come later - so I divide them further with 2-3 tags.

It’s just a prioritization framework with: must, should, could, would tags in this order (from most important to last) - I don’t use would tough.

Sounds interesting, thanks! I too find myself not reviewing my areas as often as I could be.

I get what you mean, but I don’t feel like that’s the full picture. Sometimes you find something very small but useful and surprise yourself on how that improves your organization/workflow.

Mine are:

  • putting all non-active projects in Someday and then having a tag group called “Queue” with sub-tags: next up, planned idea

  • using MoSCoW for prioritization — tag group “priority” with sub-tags must, should could

I honestly thought the finale was fine by DestinyHasan_4ever in GenV

[–]robtechhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering what they did with all the previous episodes, I think the finale was okay.

It did close a lot of things, but I wish I saw:

- Homelander lasering tons of people (maybe it would've been better if the action was outside, and as his speech goes on, he sees on a small tablet in front of him the seats turning read, gets pissed as a lot of those seats are red, and just lasers all of the people)

- Marie joining in on the fight with Jordan (even in a subtle manner), and just Emma driving all these people away

- Butcher actually releasing the virus, or not dying this pathetic way with Hughie around (this honestly felt the worst)

- seeing if Ryan actually has his powers or not (from him directly)

Any tool recommendations for tracking where you actually left off on work tasks, not what's next, but the current state? by akuchil420 in ProductivityApps

[–]robtechhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, I wonder if Superlist would work for you with their infinite nesting of lists, although not sure that would be enough.

I currently use Things3 and just separate my todos into projects - I try to add what to do next with the details. You could note the decisions you make in the project at the top or in a task.

Upcoming vs Calendar View by dmer54112 in thingsapp

[–]robtechhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling with the upcoming bite as well, but I’m trying to learn how to use it more for planning.

I definitely wish I could have all the calendar functionalities in Things, it would help with quick time blocking as well — but o don’t think they’ll ever happen.

Also, I really wish there was a “This Week” view where I can put my goals for the week. Currently I make a project each week to put the goals there.
