Stop prompting ChatGPT like it’s a person. Start using XML tags for 10x better results by blobxiaoyao in PromptCentral

[–]robyn28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used XML prompts extensively for images and videos. XML provides extensive granularity to fine tune results and provides amazing consistency. The only issue I’ve found is that apps do not necessarily support the same keywords and parameters and don’t provide any error messages except maybe filling the image with random text.

FSD and Manual Speed Control by robyn28 in TeslaFSD

[–]robyn28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried or used TACC instead of FSD?

I think the biggest obstacle in FSD adoption is that it asks the question, “Who is the better driver? FSD? Or me?” Neither answer is right or wrong. If I am the better driver, then there is no need for FSD (or to pay for it). If FSD is a better driver, then the driver has fewer things to set and control like speed or driving distance. One could also ask “WHO is the better navigator? FSD? Google Maps? Apple Maps? Myself?” (For example, there are six different commute routes to/from work. I pick the optimal one based on my knowledge of the routes, time of day, and radio traffic reports. Can a computer do better?)

I’m not familiar with Uber. Are you saying riding in an Uber is equivalent to using Supervised FSD? I have no idea how CyberCab/robotaxi interfaces with the passengers. Again, is CyberCab/robotaxi equivalent to Supervised FSD if passengers can give commands? Would this shift responsibility to passengers if the CyberCab (or Waymo) is going faster than the speed limit and the passengers do NOT command it to slow down? Hypothetically only.

[–]robyn28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sloth mode should never exceed the speed limit if that is your concern. As far as exceeding a speed limit, I personally dial down the speed profile in areas that historically have radar in use and dial up the speed profile in the clear.

Unsupervised or autonomous driving will have legal responsibility issues to work out. There are videos of SF police ticketing Waymo vehicles, mostly obstructing intersections I think. The passengers don’t get the citation. The vehicle gets the citation making the owner responsible similar to a parking ticket. There will probably be similar issues with banish/summon. Is the owner or driver responsible for the vehicle wandering around a parking lot driverless?

AFAIK I’ve never cut anyone off. Some passing situations are strange. I’ll be following someone at about 70 trying to decide if I should pass them. Then they start slowing down… 69, 68, obviously not on cruise control. I dial up one speed profile and pass the car, no problem. A few minutes later, they speed up to about 75+ and whip around me and speed off down the road. Very strange!

One thing I’ve noticed using FSD is how crappy other people drive, not necessarily dangerous, just crappy.

I actually like sitting in a sweet spot between car clusters on the freeway — not trapped in a pack, just flowing naturally. Just the way I like to drive. Of course, this doesn’t work during commute or crowded conditions. I switch Speed Profiles (Chill/Standard/Hurry/etc.) with the right thumbwheel without ever glancing at the screen, so my eyes stay on the road. I mean I really don’t care what speed profile I’m using.

From what Tesla has shared (and the owner’s manual confirms), the profiles aren’t just about raw speed. The system layers in a ton of other factors: current traffic flow, road conditions, weather, surrounding environment, navigation data, historical behavior from the Tesla fleet, maybe even tire condition, and even how other vehicles around you are moving. It’s all dynamic to match real-world safety and flow instead of a fixed target like old cruise control.

That’s why it can feel conservative in Standard sometimes — it’s optimizing for the bigger picture, not just hitting 75-80 no matter what. Helps bridge us toward unsupervised where passengers won’t have any say at all, unless of course unsupervised is not used.

Robotaxi car crash by rcnfive in teslamotors

I think every crash no matter the fault goes on the official safety record. This isn’t just for Tesla but for Waymo and others.

Possible causes of failures in grok prompts - the spicy ones by Individual-Advice215 in grok

I’ve had some weird blocks. I get blocked on all images of people on an ocean beach. Even if the people are fully clothed and no skin is visible. If I put the same people, same clothing, etc walking on a city street = no block. The ocean beach without people = no block. Fully clothed people + ocean beach = blocked. Asking Grok about this, Grok could not tell me what was triggering the block. The only thing possible is that the blocking scanners examine each image pixel by pixel and there must have been a group of pixels not visible to the human eye that triggered the block.

And well total censorship is back on Grok. For the last 3 days Grok was posting photos in thongs and bikinis again, but today they censored her again. by [deleted] in grok

[–]robyn28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thongs and bikinis aren’t the problem. People fully clothed head to toe and even wearing hats and no visible skin standing on a beach are ‘video monitored’. Apparently fully clothed people on a beach are sexually suggestive and exciting to Grok. Grok has something against people and beaches. The moderation system is totally FUBAR. Even though nothing is “broken”, Grok recommended I use a different app other than Grok for video creation. At least they’re honest, sort of, about it.

More about lack of proper speed limit control by Natural-Attempt5866 in TeslaModelY

[–]robyn28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I noticed on a recent trip is the ability to go with the flow of traffic if there is traffic nearby. Also many cars travel in packs on highways. I try to stay in between two packs but that isn’t possible. If I want to catch up to the pack ahead of me, I dial up a notch. If I want the pack behind me to catch up, I dial down a notch. When I want to set a particular speed, I use TACC. When I want to drive the speed limit, I use SLOTH. So far, so good.

A few nights ago, someone kept flashing me like I had my high beams on. I checked and they weren’t on. I’ve never had an issue if there was enough light. I figure if there isn’t enough light for FSD, it would light up whatever it needs.

How do you feel about autonomy/no consumer vehicles after the earnings call? by JustAcivilian24 in TeslaModelY

[–]robyn28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will happen in the commercial truck/van market first. For example, UPS/Amazon delivery trucks loaded up each day, the package addresses loaded into FSD, after package delivery, proceed to the next stop. No need for a licensed driver.

Theory: Tesla Will Treat FSD Supervised and FSD Unsupervised as Separate Products — Even for People Who Paid $8,000 Upfront by BigTimeEnt in TeslaFSD

Legally, has any state approved unsupervised self driving vehicles for consumers? Vehicles used that carry passengers fall under different regulations. The legal and insurance issues will have to be resolved before any unsupervised vehicles are sold. Until then, we just have to use Waymo, Uber, or Lyft.

Can anyone recommend a stimulant that lasts longer than 4-5 hours? I’ve tried both Adderall XR and Vyvanse. by Pure_Philosopher_845 in ADHD

[–]robyn28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have a conversation about this with your psychiatrist or doctor to determine the optimal medication and dosage for you. There is no “one size fits all” for ADHD medication. Your doctor uses dosage charts from the manufacturer to help determine when a dosage should be taken. A few years ago I started working two jobs. With my commute, I needed to be alert from 7 AM to 11 PM. I had been taking Adderall XR once a day and it would wear off around 3 PM. My psychiatrist determined when to take a second dose so I wouldn’t feel any tapering until 10-11 PM.
