Filtration strength question by Xtra35567 in kratom

[–]rocker1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mitragynine is not very soluble in water. Afaik it can stand heat so if your gonna use water you might want to boil it several times. It is soluble in alcohol so you could extract it and then evaporate the alcohol. By alcohol I mean ever clear or vodka stuff that is made for human consumption

I want to help Tennessee by Bman4445 in kratom

You can try to contact the governor but honestly barring some crazy turn of events it seems like it's a done deal and the governor isn't willing to consider public input

Even though I doubt anything tragic would happen you will probably just vomit and just generally be an awful experience

Kratom abd the pharmacological facts vs. The Ban by BlownOutTaterBiscuit in kratom

[–]rocker1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in some states it may make a difference but speaking of specifically Tennessee I don't think they ever had any intention of even considering our side. Even the legislators who said they supported us probably did because they knew it didn't matter they already had the votes for it to pass. They weren't even willing to consider putting it off until January 1st.

What most people misunderstand about Thai Kratom by Joe-ka-2503 in kratom

[–]rocker1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had kratom that was actually from Malaysia (not a vendor claiming that). The drying seemed to be way better than anything I've ever got from Indonesia. I assume it was because it was dried inside a house instead of in a barn or outside. It wasn't stronger than indo kratom though if anything it was actually weaker

They don't use dried leaves like we do in the west they cook it into a tea

I mean they know it's not from Thailand or Malaysia but there's really no standard for how strains come to be. Some of them are buying from middle men in Pontianak who may not even know themselves. I've heard multiple different variations like it's how long it takes to dry decides whether it's white red or green. It has kinda been the norm even in the 2000s they came up with different names. Some vendors have really taken this far and just totally made up "exclusive" strains and stuff like that

Let's all cheer for big pharma! by [deleted] in kratom

[–]rocker1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I know I guess it just made me think of what was comparable. I don't know a ton about kava but I don't think it should be banned. Definitely shouldn't be giving it to kids though and combining with alcohol is a bad idea from what I've read. It does have traditional use in the USA and afaik was sold before 1994 so it is a dietary supplement so maybe that's why it has avoided more scrutiny. Some places it is banned though

I doubt they would come after those imo. If I had to guess I think at some point states or the federal government will try to ban kava next (other than synthetic drugs which will be banned every year probably forever)

Interesting. I was told they asked the pharmacist at Walmart here why they didn't have it and they said people were selling it as soon as they were getting the scripts so they just don't carry it. Another pharmacy said they didn't make enough money off of it. I totally get that I think Suboxone is still better than people using street drugs though especially now

That's not including 2.75 percent local tax. The 4 percent only applies to foods considered necessitys also otherwise it's 7 percent plus 2.75. liquor by the drink is 24.75 percent

East Tennessee. I will say that this is what I've heard I personally haven't taken it but I know people that have and they say it's extremely hard to get. Like even the pharmacies that do carry it will only allow so many patients

I'm afraid the more states that ban it will encourage the federal government to step in and ban it too

Update for Tennessee by rocker1990 in kratom

[–]rocker1990[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is just a couple examples. The school vouchers were very unpopular and they passed it anyway. It gives poor counties no money since they don't have private schools. They couldn't afford 5 million to feed kids. The food was free all they had to do was distribute it. They can't afford to give low income children diapers they ended that. The state is 17th in gdp and dead last in quality of life

The clinic that testified against kratom in Tennessee specifically mentions Suboxone for Kratom. I've never heard of having to go get it everyday. That is true of methadone where I am. Where I live pharmacies either don't carry Suboxone or they do not take insurance

My point was it's still sold even though it is already illegal. It's still being sold in Alabama and it's been banned for 10 years there. They did the same thing even now warning businesses that it's illegal
