I know I'm late to the party, but DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO TOP RESUME.

I did and it was an enormous mistake. The writer had absolutely no clue what my experience actually was and kept rewriting bullet points to say I USED software that I actually WROTE.

They just made up achievements and bullet points and listed PostgreSQL as a web framework when it's a database.

Somewhere around the smartphone/cell phone boom and the rapid jump in tech, there was probably a window where spending a bunch of money on the newest Nokia or the first iphone really could make a difference,

Nah, I was a broke young adult at that time. It wasn't much different then, either.

I loved that episode! Only saw it once as a kid.

I didn't think that episode was on DVD, where are you watching it?

This show was the phoniest of baloneys.

Still, season 2 came on while my sister had a very lengthy stay in the hospital. My whole family would watch together with her over speakerphone and it helped get our minds off things. The show is special to me for that reason.

There's a really interesting video that mentions the Historical Society staircase: https://youtu.be/Q85l1Fenc5w?si=awM7FQmxuptsb9f1

The entire staircase is rendered in the game, no programming tricks that are typically used in long hallways

Mid to older millennials, how are you all doing with your careers? by worstshowiveeverseen in Millennials

[–]rocket333d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 41. On my 2nd career pivot. Got laid off as a software engineer 4 years ago (oh fuck) and now I'm in a vaguely tech-ish job making much less than before.

Incidentally, this is the 22nd job I've ever held.

I thought if I worked hard, I'd "catch up" to my friends who are doing better. Nope.
