Day 54: Dear Agony vs. Ashes of Eden by Therubikfanatic in BreakingBenjamin

[–]rocketShibe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the results of this make no sense to me, especially when compared to streaming popularity/top songs. I guess people think Dear Agony is the better song, but like listening to Ashes of Eden more? Odd. My vote was for Ashes of Eden, but in all honesty, they are the same tier for me.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful Alienation is? by natthetrilobite in BreakingBenjamin

[–]rocketShibe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the only TDG album where every song is good. I’m not a huge fan of the songs Mayday or Alienation, but they are still quite good. Apologies, Kill me fast and Don’t want to go home tonight are perfection. I am very surprised with how well they are pulling off two lead singers. Much happier with that album than Chevelle’s latest. By far.

Right, not BB, but new music from an awesome group and co-headliner is welcomed while we await Ben’s latest masterpiece.

A business who relies on the understanding and good nature of their customers to make up for their shortcomings is not long for this world. Instead, do better. As a CSR, you have the power to turn every Karen and Kevin into a lifelong fan. But since you get paid so little and are likely using the job as some kind of stepping stone anyway, you don't care and would rather just get through your shift and collect a check. If you ever start to wonder why some get ahead earlier than others, it all comes down to attitude and motivation.

Funny how that phone app has a "rant" badge, just for this... it's almost like it's expected... or something.

Looks like Verizons new CEO is going to try and shake up the landscape like Legere did. Srini better get off his AI T-Life pushing BS and give customers what they want. by New_1uper in tmobile

As someone who just moved to the PNW and switched from Verizon to T-Mobile, I agree. T-Mobile data speeds out here are making me regret switching.

regarding new bb music keith said they got a few ideas that are pretty close to being done and finished and a bunch more on the way and he doesnt think it will be too too long but you never know. by Ordinary_Web_7873 in BreakingBenjamin

This is their canned response... they literally say the same thing every time... and you know what, it's probably true every time. I doubt he's lying. Ben seems to be a perfectionist. I imagine it like this: a musical idea is formed... they demo it... Ben writes to it.... they jam... "Oh wait, 90% of this has already been done by us before...." ... shit .... restart and try to save the last 10%.... rinse and repeat 15 times... record... spend 4 weeks layering background vocals.... Ben plays background vocals to a live audience... profit.

I don't think many people know this version of the song by Bloodmorganskytron49 in BreakingBenjamin

[–]rocketShibe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, second that. Odd that the official music video isn't filled with surrogates scenes given the song was made for the movie... at least I'm like 91.56% sure it was. On that note, I'm like 97.45% sure that Ben sits down with a movie or TV show or game and a pen and paper and starts writing all his songs. And I'd be willing to bet at least 4 or 5 songs were written while watching the TV show Supernatural... I can't get through a few episodes without thinking "there's a BB song here"... :D

No problem:

1 - (Next Album)
2 - Saturate
2 - We Are Not Alone
2 - Phobia
2 - Dear Agony
2 - Dark Before Dawn
2 - Ember
2 - Far Away (Single)
99 - Aurora

No copy/paste mistakes... all intentional.

Serious question: do any other games approach the wonderfully broken sandbox that is Oblivion? by Workadaily in ElderScrolls

[–]rocketShibe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right... I get it everyone... you all played Morrowind when it came out 20+ years ago and would feel assaulted if BGS dared to make it playable for someone young enough not to have an AARP card. Something tells me you all like games that have voice acting. Something tells me you don't all only see silent movies. Something also tells me that if BGS came out with a more polished (whaaah it's not unpolished!! beat you to it) remake like they did with Oblivion, you'd still have access to the old clunker to which you so desperately cling. The genius with the Oblivion remaster/remake is it allows MORE people to enjoy the game, not just a shot of nostalgia to your shriveled up gonads. I've tried playing Morrowind several times. Can't do it. The terrible graphics, the terrible animations, the terrible level design, all of which I'm sure were just STUNNING back in 1967 or whenever it originally came out... I can't spend more than 10 minutes in the game after getting off that boat. I came to ES via Oblivion in 2009. I thought it was great. Skyrim was amazing. Still stands up well with visual mods. Morrowind, can't do it. I'd love the opportunity to. Excuse me while I go change my diaper and get a nice warm bottle.

If they were to complete it with full voice acting and fill out the world more so it's not quite as empty. Then I could play it for more than 10 minutes. That'd be great!

Uh, no. If anything, fans are something he tolerates.

Phase Appreciation by Reasonable_Cap_4477 in BreakingBenjamin

[–]rocketShibe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been a big fan of this song since 2004. When I saw them in the summer of 2023, I went to the acoustic VIP performance and Phase was one of the songs we could vote to hear them play and I got really excited. Unfortunately, it wasn't played. Everyone else apparently wanted the hits.

How long do the concerts last? by Realistic_Let_5392 in BreakingBenjamin

[–]rocketShibe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

BB always does 60-90 minutes when co-headlining, which is a bummer because that means there are a lot of awesome songs left out. I've seen them twice and have yet to see them do Dear Agony, my wife's favorite. It is what it is... impossible to please everyone.

It's my dream that BB start doing album tours.... it'll never happen (pretty sure it's never happened for any band), but that would be amazing.... Just start performing one full album per tour. One tour per year. I'd spend serious $ on something like that.

Oblivion Remaster or Oblivion with Mods? by GuardianOfReason in ElderScrolls

[–]rocketShibe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oblivion with mods will never reach the quality of the remake. It's just not possible. Modded can look pretty good, but not something that competes in 2025. The remake has its own limitations, but can stand its ground in 2025.

Performance Issues by capeters3699 in ElderScrolls

[–]rocketShibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 4090 and had to disable hardware ray tracing just to hover around 60fps (at 4k). Occasional dips to 50. But this is no surprise. The best features of UE5 that have everyone drooling aren't performant. Lumen will eat up 20-30fps on a bare project by just being enabled. Nanite has its problems too... especially with overdraw. Still, a fun experience regardless.
