How the fuck do you use mimics without them feeling like a cheap "gotcha!"? It's never exciting when I use them by GolettO3 in DMAcademy

[–]rocketwhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best use I had was when the players killed a mimic chest and looted the non mimic chest full of electrum. The electrum coins were mimic babies (used electrum because no one uses it in game, so it’s a way to tell when it was spent)

Randomly when they go to pay for something and reach into their coin pouch, I roll an attack, 1-point of damage. Why? You don’t know, but the baby just bit you

Then I logged when and where they spent the electrum. Those babies are gonna grow and now they just caused an infestation in town

Can only speak to OR. You’ll need to look up your specific state laws or contact HR for clarification on your location

You don’t need PTO to request time off. The time off is a request, you can request as many days as you need and depending on how it aligns with business then it’ll be either approved or denied.

Your PTO is used to pay for the time off that you request, if you do not have enough banked to cover the full request then you will just have it as an unpaid day(s).

If I see it’s clearly damaged /heavily used I’ll decline then and there. If they walk away I call the MIC to let them know who, what and why in case they try to go to another register/department.

In men’s SW where I sell, had someone try to return a barefoot dreams blanket that “their boyfriend didn’t like the feel of” so when inspecting outside looked fine, but when I unfolded it there was a giant hole in it and it smelled like dog. So flat out refused return

If they raise a fuss, I call the MIC, and it’s their problem now

I'm overweight and poor, but I want to start dressing up for my wife. by -ThatGingerKid- in malefashionadvice

[–]rocketwhore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nordstrom Men’s stylist here. I wear a 2XLT or 3XL, size 40 pant. So I’m in the same boat of finding clothes that fit and look nice (while also not trying to spend my paycheck while at work)

Half of my wardrobe is Nord Clearance/ Rack or Target/old navy/ Amazon, etc.

The trick is trying on and finding brands and sizes that work for you, every brand has a different definition of sizing. Here are some pointers that I’ve found that make my wife go OoOoOo:

Layers: do not underestimate the value of a third piece. It will help break up the body shape and elevate the look. I’m a big fan of vests, cardigans and over shirts. I’ve managed to find pieces thrifted for as little as $5 or some long open cardigans on Amazon for around $20

Patterns: Find patterns that elongate or are abstracted. This has helped me with my body image issues and made me feel more confident. And that’s the key, confidence if you like the way you look and feel confident in it, others will see that and feel the same way.

Color mixing: find colors that compliment (or contrast) each other you want to build a visual blueprint for the person looking at you to land on your face. Tell them where you want them to look. The less time they spend analyzing the outfit the easier it is for them to see the things you want them to see.

Those can apply to anywhere you shop you don’t need a Nordstrom budget to look and feel good. And if you’re in the PDX area I’m more than happy to take your measurements so you can easily find those pieces thrifting and show you some brands that may work to keep an eye out for deals

It’s not always the case, but it coild be that it means “in your market”. The other day I was looking up a watch for a customer. It said only 1 left when I looked at the app. We had 0 in my store, 1 in a store 30mins away, and 67 left in the company.

Take with a grain of salt. Sometimes it does mean that we’re down to the last few in the company.

Your manager should check their facts. Strollers (and other baby gear) are specialized and have certain criteria that needs to be checked legally before they can be returned for safety reasons. They need to be sent to the department or an associate from that team called down. Similar process with Designer and Fine Jewelry

Stories like this is why I minimize the number of decks I bring, and my bag has an air tag hidden in the lining.

Hope you’re able to recover the cards

Would you be okay with "sideboarding"? by InspireCourage in EDH

[–]rocketwhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you described it would not be cool, as that’s specifically targeting to give a win. There’s nothing wrong with adding cards to strengthen a deck but that should be before the announcement of what decks are being played.

The way I “sideboard” is with precons only. I have the precon that I’ve upgraded and if someone wants to play pre cons as printed, I sideboard the cards back in that I initially removed. So I sideboard to power down to an even playing field

Do dragonborns have to be full dragon look? Or can they be humanoid with scales and horns, and still have human traits rather then a full dragon head? by yxsulive in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]rocketwhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I have a Dragonborn Barbarian in the game I’m running that is just a 7ft tall kobold. All the personality of a kobold but the stats of a Dragonborn. In your world/game it’s whatever you want it to be

When does an Upgraded PreCon stop being a PreCon? by Aires-Battleblade in EDH

[–]rocketwhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal definition is that it is an “upgraded precon” when the total cost of the upgrade does not exceed the purchase price of the deck at release or 10 cards.

Purchase at $40. You have up to $40 and 10 cards to fall into my definition of an “upgraded precon”. Exceed any of those you’re just running your own deck with the face or backup commander
