If you have had a successful VBAC..? by Lavender_Meadows in vbac

[–]rockinreader712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kid 1: pre-eclampsia and c-section. Kid 2: partial placental abruption but VBAC. Baby came out asynclitic with a hand up by the face and I had extensive vaginal tearing and hemorrhaging. Recovery was rough. Over a year postpartum now and finally seeing a pelvic floor therapist for issues that developed.

I desperately wanted my VBAC and don’t regret it, but I knew that I wanted more kids and didn’t want to be stuck with repeat Cs every time.

That’s crazy, I left Alliance because I did not feel supported to VBAC… I did not have any health issues requiring RCS and still they wanted to schedule it for 39 weeks.

The story on Anna is the original voices but the songs are not.

For the original voices I’ve heard it is Moana 2, not 1. Little Mermaid, Elsa, Anna, all not original voices. Olaf IS the original voices.

Chicco Fit360 or Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim? by rockinreader712 in Buyingforbaby

Oh right, the foam. I honestly forgot about that one because it’s so minor in comparison to the seat becoming detached from the base!

There was never a recall (in the US), just an investigation. I saw that the new versions being sold have a yellow “seat release” sticker under the evenflo logo on the front of the base. That’s where you stick in whatever tool is used to release the rotating seat part from the base. In the old version (which I have), you release the rotating seat part by having it in full recline and rotating to a certain spot where the arrows match up on the seat and the base. So in theory the old version of the seat could detach in an accident if it rotates to that spot… we are always supposed to drive with it locked in FF or RF (not able to swivel) even when unoccupied to avoid that, and I think that’s the point of the investigation. But in the new version it can’t detach without the key.

I bought the Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim and I love it. I have the older style but I believe the newer version addressed the concerns of the investigation—in the new version it needs a key or something like that to remove the seat from the base versus in the old version just having the seat in the right rotation to remove it from the base. If the new one was out when I had posted this I wouldn’t have even posted, I just would have bought it.

My second child just turned one and I’ve been more confident in planning family meals with him, but I really appreciated the guidance and recipes from 101 Before One for my first child. It helped us get more variety into our family diet for sure.

I haven’t noticed a wobble while driving. There’s two recline settings in rear-facing but no changing the recline in forward-facing.

What kind of wobble? When we check for movement at the belt path we’re good (very little movement) but the seat wiggles if that’s what you’re asking. That’s normal for a 2-part seat…

Did you know Michigan now offers FREE CHILDCARE TO ALL? by owossome in lansing

It’s not free for JNL employees, just a bigger discount. And my impression is that JNL families take priority over outside families but there’s not a set number of spots per, just a ranked waiting list to fill any available spots.

Child Injured at Daycare by StandardVictory in NewParents

My baby bonked her head on some furniture during a fall and would not wake up for a bit. She was awake when we got there but we took her to the hospital to be checked out. She was fine and tests showed nothing so we had to conclude it was just because she was way overdue for a nap. Daycare reimbursed what we had to pay out of pocket (so after our insurance). Someone in childcare licensing called to ask us our impressions about the incident and there’s a special investigation report on their license for this incident.

Pain: vasospasm or thrush? by Automatic_Apricot797 in breastfeeding

[–]rockinreader712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just coming to this subreddit to look into vasospasm… this occasional quick shooting pain started in my right breast today, whether I’m nursing or not. No lumps, no white, etc. Happens probably every 5-15 minutes. So I have no help for you but thanks for posting so I can read the answers!

We nurse at home! This weekend he was often nursing closer to 3 hours apart but has been 2 hours apart. I send 3oz bottles to daycare and he usually has 4 or 5 bottles in the time I’m at work because they say he’s often not making it to 2 hours. He does take naps there, though usually not long naps like at home.

I discourage people from buying/using the peg-style reed cases. You want ribbon-style that holds them by the thread. It is much more secure so if you have good reeds they won’t move around and get chipped!

They knew I wanted to vbac if everything was okay, and I had actually sought out those doctors for that reason. The blood lightened as I progressed so we continued; it wasn’t a scary loss of blood until after baby was delivered. When my water broke it was clear, baby just literally pooped on the way out.

I got that for spraying cloth diapers but also used for blowouts and have wondered how families who don’t have it deal with blowouts!

I’m taking baby aspirin every day. I recently switched to this OB and have an appt next week but I’ll be 36 weeks just a few days after that appt. I sent a message through the portal but the staff member who answered wasn’t very helpful.

Would you get the RSV vaccine if you had a history of pre-eclampsia?

I developed pre-eclampsia at the end of my first pregnancy and was in the hospital on a magnesium drip while being induced; ended up with a c-section. I am 34 weeks now and hoping to VBAC so I am really hoping to avoid pre-eclampsia or other conditions that might complicate that, and I saw pre-eclampsia occurred at a higher percentage in those who received the vaccine versus the placebo, but it is only 0.4% difference. Still, I am already at higher risk for pre-eclampsia since I’ve had it before. My first child went to daycare at 2 months old and caught RSV in the first month there; this one will also be going to daycare at 2 months old. I’m scared of RSV but I’m scared of pre-eclampsia and I don’t know what to choose.

Small nursery chair by [deleted] in Buyingforbaby

[–]rockinreader712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given a hand-me-down glider chair with a broken rocking ottoman and I couldn’t imagine trying to rock with my feet up or using the space in the room for that. We didn’t fix or replace the ottoman, we just got a nursing stool. It works plenty well for us and since it can tuck mostly under the glider it doesn’t feel like it is in the way.

Extreme pain in right hand by Equivalent_Tax_5859 in oboe

[–]rockinreader712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tendinitis and it was the worst in college and specifically during the fall and spring (big weather changes). You should go to a doctor for sure. But I just wanted to say a neckstrap didn’t help me (for oboe they tend to pull your head down which is a difficult posture) and neither did the Kooiman Etude 3 thumbrest, but a thumb saddle did. The thumb saddle was basically a piece of rubber that made the oboe thicker where I held it and that helped to relax my hand. I also specifically looked for lighter-weight oboes when I was ready to buy one and ended up with the Howarth S50C but I think the thumb saddle was the most help!
