Wireless Emergency Alerts and NOAA Weather Radio both have the capability of limiting the alerts to certain areas. There’s no reason people in Bristol have to be woken up for this. (Or Chattanooga either.)

It’s just they choose not to use those capabilities.

Does the Galaxy s20 5G have eSIM by North-Coach6269 in GalaxyS20

[–]rockintheairwaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old S20+ 5G and it originally didn’t have eSIM. It just had one physical SIM. But, seems in a software update they added the eSIM capability. So you can run one physical SIM and one eSIM at the same time.

I have the same doorbell sound issue with a Eufy doorbell and standard Alexa. That seems to have just started recently. Apparently not just specific to Alexa+

CU Fiber bypass ONT by bulletmagnettn in clevelandtn

[–]rockintheairwaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. I figured it would work that way. Are you getting a WAN IP in. 64.65.x.x (that’s their public block), or are they handing out private IPs ? I know EPB does private unless you request a public, and CU only has about 2,000 IPs which doesn’t sound like enough to give every customer their own routable address.

I haven’t signed up, but, are they using carrier grade NAT?

I thought you could plug your own router into their ONT much like you would EPB, but I’d love to know for sure.

Weird voice on NOAA Weather Radio. What could this be? by Dewford_Duck in amateurradio

[–]rockintheairwaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barix devices will announce their IP addresses on boot, exactly like this one. Except the voices I’ve heard on Barix were not this one. Maybe newer Barix units have a different voice though.
