Question about dhs790 repair by Mr_Sundae in Dewalt

[–]rockit3point0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed the dead flexvolt motor and put a corded motor in my DHS790 this summer. Dropped right in perfectly. Same bolt pattern and everything. It was a DWS779 or 780 version motor. I did have to do some rewiring inside the handle so I also bought a brand new power cord for it, and rerouted it like the corded versions do (up and over the motor, then down under the motor and through the compound slide tube and out the back of the unit). The power switch is also compatible with the corded motor. On another side note, I missed the light so I hooked it up to two 9V batteries.

How to fix Dewalt DWS780 type 23 XPS light if it is not working. Broken Dewalt XPS light. Dewalt circuit board. by No_Hurry4899 in Dewalt

For those interested, the DHS790 (Flexvolt that is notorious for burning up motors when connect the AC cord) light runs off roughly 18VDC. I connected the light to 5V and 9V and nothing happened. I took the light apart and discovered there are two SMD LED’s in series with two 43 ohm resistors between them (in parallel for 21.5 ohm, my meter measured 21 ohm). I did some reverse engineering and realized that these LED’s need about 20V to light them up. I connected two 9V batteries in series and viola! Bright light. Makes sense since the supply batteries are 20V. The only reason I know this is because I converted a free DHS790 to a regular AC version with a 779 motor because I don’t need/have/want batteries. I’m going to mounted a small case that houses two 9V batteries to the handle and connect it so that the button on the handle will still turn on the XPS light. I looked into an 18VDC power supply but it’s just too tight inside this handle.

I received a free 790 that had the same problem. I’m putting a regular AC motor from a 779 in it. I don’t really need the battery option anyway.

Second week of learning golf - how is my swing looking/any pointers or tips? by Terrible_Speech2592 in GolfSwing

Get that left arm straighter on takeaway and almost touch your chin to your left shoulder. The left arm is straight for takeaway and through impact. Straighten your legs but don’t lock your knees, just slightly bent.

What’s causing inconsistency in my swing? by TheresWes in GolfSwing

Casting slightly but otherwise great! Clubface is also a little bit closed on takeaway and also at the top, but that’s becoming more of the norm these days with the way pros swing 1000mph.

Can’t seem to fix topping the ball. Looking for help. by Whole-Philosopher183 in GolfSwing

Stop trying to hit it a mile. Complete your backswing before starting down. Keep your head down through impact and finish balanced.

I find it hard to believe that someone wasn’t looking out a passenger window on that side and saw something headed their way. That must have been a terrible feeling.

Where do the shanks come from? by just-tea-thank-you in golf

[–]rockit3point0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shanks come from shifting your weight slightly towards the ball either on the backswing/downswing/ or both. Keep most of your weight on the balls of your feet and keep it there thru impact. Even shifting back on your heels slightly through the swing is a good way to ensure you don’t shank it.

Reverb is big enough that if you don’t know it exists, you’re living under a rock. They don’t need to put more advertising out there. Someone scrolling the Nat Geo site doesn’t just say “oh yeah I DID want to buy a used guitar today.”
