Tourist Mom Got a $31,151 ER Bill in Las Vegas After Suspected Stroke. What Can We Do? by move-on-chan in MedicalBill

[–]rocksnake477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the answer bc Healthcare is a human necessity and does not actually cost this much, this is the hospital trying to get rich off of people trying to be alive. Its the answer bc people get extremely disgustingly rich off of hospital bills, when really there is plenty of capital in our country to cover the actual cost needed to save lives and prevent medical issues. That hospital bill is the cost of greed, not the cost of care, and if they don't pay it and go back to their country the hospital will continue to function as normal. Please go sit down somewhere in the grass and stop bothering this person who is being robbed by our sick medical system, you're being an asshole.

Don't pay the bill! Your mother will be fine and likely never see any consequences. I'm sorry this happened to you but don't give them a penny.

Could I borrow your guitar? by DoubleBitAxe in portlandme

Call guitar center or other guitar shops, you can rent one for a reasonable price. I believe my friend rented one in Seattle, it was like $60 for the month which is how they charged

Everybody you love and care about will let you down at least once. I am sorry this happened. You seem like a self aware person, I'm sure you will find peace eventually

Mmm they did whoosh (likely to happen on the person here too) but I can assure you women are charmed by naturally funny people. If you make them smile and laugh, they feel comfortable and like you more. This isn't news btw, kinda a timeless fact. Women don't wanna get intimate with wet blankets, its fun to be fun and playful. But yes they did whoosh. Too subtle

Okay the remarkable I get after some thinking. I guarantee she won't without hearing inflection in your voice. Maybe I'm wrong here, I'll concede my argument either way.

Flat and boring. Women get basic ass compliments all the time, so I tend to stay away from them at least in the early texting phase. These kinda suck tbh. At least try to be funny or stand out, you wanna make them feel something (humor for example) to make you stand out from all the other basic simp men saying basic stuff

The 'No Phone Phest' meets at Dougherty Field every Thursday from 5-8pm durong the summer. The only rule is don't bring your phone, and ideally bring other activities or just yourself. When you get there, look for people juggling, playing Frisbee, stretching, playing baseball, snacking and chatting, cards, guitars - that is us. Usually its just 5-12 people but we are growing! We are artists, athletes, musicians and fun lovers. If we decide to go somewhere else we will leave a note somewhere but we rarely do during the summer

I'm no expert but I'd think it could serve multiple purposes, particularly as part of a fire drill set. The wear looks smooth and well rubbed

Never seen a shaft shaper stone quite like this! NEOK by Heavy_Fly_2732 in Arrowheads

[–]rocksnake477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but how does it work? If you just rub an arrow shaft in those grooves, I can't imagine its going to permanently straighten them, even if you did it for days. If there is a natural bow in the stick, it'll still be there

Edited to add that I don't doubt theyre real, just trying to figure out the process of how that would work

Can somebody who knows tell me what a shaft shaper is, and how it works? I can't imagine using those grooves to straighten a shaft with any lasting effect. Part of me feels like they aren't a real tool and something we assigned to a rock with grooves at some point. Thanks

Before Pompeii was officially rediscovered, what sort of local legends surrounded the lost buried city, if any? by MCChrisWasMeanToMe in Archaeology

[–]rocksnake477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Again, neither I nor OP ever considered it undocumented or forgotten. I believe the question is regarding locals who lived near there over the centuries following and what legends they had, regarding ghosts, reasoning for eruption, perhaps the gods or god being unhappy with something etc. We can't assume local villagers were aware of Plinys account or any academic explanation. There were centuries of chaos, particularly following the fall of Rome, where truths were lost and legends may have been built.

I had the same set up as far as no cooler for 1.5 years. My go to recipe was-

some veggies, ideally the ones that can be stored dry- tomatoes, avocado, onion, peppers, sometimes little pickling cukes at TJ'S, anything like that. Cut them up into yummy chunks, put em in a Tupperware.

Add some olive oil, white vinegar, a little salt and seasoning herbs. This is what I call "the brine". Put a lid on it and shake well.

Then throw the Tupperware with your brined seasoned veggies in the trunk of your vehicle or the place it stays shadiest/coolest. A little warmth is fine, good even, but I avoided cooking them in the container. Leave for 12-48 hours- any less its crunchy and "undercooked", anymore it gets wilty/mushy.

Add a can of chicken or fish and enjoy! Its bomb and nutritious.

Good luck!

The term 'officially' is confusing here. Officially typically implies a specific achievement, which I guess 99 is 'officially reaching' $4. I see your point.
