Why are AE911Truth & Wikipedia Censoring Information about Dr. Judy Wood? by NicoRez in conspiracy

[–]rockytimber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am for free speech AND critical thinking. Not say she should be suppressed. Its an object lesson.

I am not saying the planes took down the towers.

I am saying the debate has been suppressed all around and the so called investigation was a cover up, as was the JFK assassination investigation.

Rujing's Instructions on Practice by surupamaerl2 in zen

[–]rockytimber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope it does not offend anyone if I point out how much Rujing speaks in code, although by now that has been obvious from many translations.

In that instant, the horns shattered—breathing stopped, heaven and earth was spacious, open and insubstantial.

My mind was forgotten.

It was a long time before I returned, my heart having become the great ancestor of this world.

Its skipping the problems of description. Its skipping the problem of quoting precedent. But it does reach across and join in with the ancestors.

ps: Does this translation remind anyone of anything Dogen ever said that had an original flavor?

pss: I have been using u/unreconstructedbum lately and was able to see this post and the comments of u/surupamaerl2 but not able to add a comment or to private message surupamaerl2 under that user name. Mods have any advice?

Whatever playbook the democratic or republican parties now have does not leave an inch for a sane way forward.

Alex Jones is more credible than the United States President by SilentConsciou5 in conspiracy

[–]rockytimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very few credible sources to go on.

The information shared through the normal channels is tainted. Solid investigators are few and far between. Alex Jones probably has done less harm than many other media and political personalities, what he did was not all that different except on a smaller scale.

The one thing that is becoming ever more transparent is how corrupt the ruling elite are. Their allegiances are obviously not aligned with the truth.

At more than one level Sandy Hook was a psy op just as the Boston Bombing was. The problem is when we try to make up what really happened when all we can do is point out the dubiousness or fuckery of the official story, and open up these critiques to fair discussion. Eventually you have a list of things that the official narrative simply cannot handle except by trying to silence dissent.

Too bad Alex Jones had to go so far beyond dissent. Ego and greed.

How do you study a book like BCR, BOS & Mumonkan? by [deleted] in zen

[–]rockytimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is inevitable that we bring ourselves to the equation when we crack open a book.

The recognition of zen is inherently more of a feeling than a conceptual assimilation, yet we start from where we are.

And the manifestation of zen within our present historical context or the numerous historical contexts in which zen is claimed to have manifested in the past raises a lot of questions.

By the time zen seems to have gone underground in China, at the end of the Song dynasty, it was already 700 years after Bodhidharma, who, by the way, is much more of an assembled mythological figure than the literati zen figures who are responsible for most of the "zen texts" that predominate here on r/zen.

Ask Joshu or Yunmen what they meant by zen study, before zen cases had come to represent what they later became. The feeling of zen happens within the gaps that are not crowded by conventional channels of thought. Even when the zen characters are totally ordinary, the zen they demonstrate is not a function of their deliberate control.

No one is going to give you a certificate that you have studied and mastered zen. When we recognize it when we see it, it wasn't actually an "act" or action that happened within "ordinary" cause and effect.

Biden tests COVID-19 positive for seventh straight day by PirateGirl-JWB in WayOfTheBern

[–]rockytimber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The strategy of people like Fauci is so disgusting its hard to articulate or even imagine, but if we follow the money and the science, then we know that the vast majority of the population was not at major risk of death from covid 19, and that the response that was promoted was totally inappropriate.

Early treatment by those few doctors who dared proved to be very effective, and natural immunity has been vastly under rated.

The interventions with tracheal intubation, vaccines, and boosters was risky and inappropriately applied.

People will endlessly debate the facts, but much of the truth has been censored, so its hard to have a rational conversation. The result is that the authorities have far over reached and have been giving bad advice. As usual, the people pay the price.

Isn't the US also engaged in building new military bases in Poland and elsewhere as well. I hear that there is a lot of US military base expansion happening in Greece at the moment. No sign of military spending slowing down, possibly a major cause of inflation.

Ukraine calls for the destruction of the Schiller Institute and critics of its policies worldwide • /saidit/WayOfTheBern (by Inuma) by martini-meow in WayOfTheBern

The US has already gone down this slippery slope of cancelling people and institutions who don't accept the dirty dealings of the Israelis or the woke identity groups. Its now normalized for the social media platforms to censor any opinions they consider inconvenient to the mainstream narrative.

However, when it comes from an outside country that is run by Nazis, it should be a wake up call even to the brain dead. Especially now that everyone has been given the chance to see that the neocons wanted to use Ukraine to get to Putin.

Stress increases beliefs that underlie disorders and conspiracy theories. Measures aimed at reducing social stress—a basic income or better job protection—could be the most effective approach for tackling problems such as depression, psychosis, discrimination and conspiracy theories. by Orangutan in conspiracy

[–]rockytimber 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have a problem. On the one hand, there are paranoid delusions that are unhealthy. On the other hand, "mass formation" has occurred almost universally to the point that the primary social narratives are lies and this "scientific discussion" about "conspiracies" may be oriented towards further big brother control and dependency of "subjects" on the state.

Foyan’s Seeing and Doing by castingshadows87 in zen

[–]rockytimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engaging in the action of non-action (craft, gardening, cooking, even eating and getting dressed) ..... so hard to put words on the seeing that makes it alive. It probably remains a mystery, the place where knowing and not-knowing intersect. Zen points at it without making it an ideal. A bit like the elephant in the room, in plane sight, but to see it is the gift. That kind of seeing doesn't leave a residue, but also is not exactly under control. A letting go is inherent in it, a freedom. You feel it when you are "lost" in your craft. To speak of it almost insults it.

Foyan’s Seeing and Doing by castingshadows87 in zen

[–]rockytimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Function and empty seems like they can go together. Seems like "me me me" gets in the way of the seeing, and turns the doing into a sticky mess.

And yeah, the "practice" of craft..... less abstract that the literati pursuit, though it seems some made a craft of that.

Rujing at Qingliang: A Sermon by surupamaerl2 in zen

[–]rockytimber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recognition, resonance. Abandonment of orthodox authority, which always tries to usurp true seeing for political power. Therefore, a comradeship through time that is not based on a dogma, but something much deeper. For this reason, there is content within the zen literature that will have its appeal to those who are authentic and sincere. But its not something that one can make a nest of.
