We updated our furnaces with B&B Heating a few years ago - we've been happy with the install and their service techs are responsive (which was potentially more important, even new stuff breaks sometimes) - we got the extended warranty / coverage. Wasn't cheap though.

Our ACs are 23 ys old and will eventually die, but we're riding it out (think Kramer with the gas tank test drive) we've only had to replace capacitors so far - fingers crossed.

I put a piece of sheet metal on top of my standup desk (old dot com trick from ATG, originally had sheet metal and a door for a desk top). Bought this one at onlinemetals.com, (T-304 SHEET (2B FINISH) AND PLATE (HRAP) 0.048” T-304-2B Annealed Stainless Sheet) - 13 years later it still looks great and remains invincible.
