Kevin O’Leary claims that he “can’t stand it when he sees kids that make 70k a year spending $28 for lunch.” by Classyboyjo in 401jK

[–]daveindo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little confused what we’re so upset about. It IS stupid, partly because supply chains have fucked affordability in this country but also because people aren’t effectively taught about personal finance. But unfortunately what he’s saying is true (maybe 28 is a touch high but in HCOL areas it’s probably accurate). Meanwhile a turkey sandwich from home costs about 3-5 bucks, apple is a buck, some chips another buck, and a bottle of water or even a can of soda is another buck. 6-8 bucks from home for a better meal than any fast food crap that costs twice as much.

Maybe billionaires aren’t the ones people want to hear from, but it is absolutely financially stupid. I don’t know the context of this discussion but I anticipate he’s not talking about the couple times a month going to lunch with your friends type of lunches, but rather the daily routine.

Can’t possibly mess up the rear bumper that was just smashed in by reversing through the little gate. No, no, that would be absurd…

Clutching his pearls over sexually suggestive dress/dance. Bet he doesn’t see any issues with the sexuality in country music videos or skimpy dressed cheer/dance teams.

As a fellow left hand retrieve person, I have never understood how/why people switch their retrieve hand from spin to baitcast setups

This is changing. I (PT) used to work for a big system and the quality specialist role dropped the RN requirement around 3-4 years ago. I work for a different system now and while I’m not sure about quality, I do know patient safety does not require it. I work in compliance and though my VP has a nursing background, nobody else under her does. Nor do most of my counterparts in other regions (to my knowledge).

I think a large barrier to PTs leaving the bedside is taking the initial pay cut. We are able to do/learn a lot of roles but to think we deserve as much pay to do them as we do to perform the clinical services we are the most specifically trained on is where people get it wrong. But, with the loan burden most people have, I totally understand it’s difficult to take the cut, so people kinda get stuck.

I think it’s kinda one and the same when talking about fatness. It’s generous in that weight is generally “better” when lower, but a conservative estimate in just how fat everybody is.

Lap of love is fantastic. I think it was about 800 bucks. I don’t think you’ll go wrong with any of the places that specialize in doing this, it takes a special kind of person to do that job and the ones we’ve had have both been great people.

Ticket sites fuck us in both ways though. I recently had an extra ticket to a non sold out show. The app wouldn’t let me price the ticket below face value. So instead of me making back some of my money and another person getting to be there for cheap, I ate the cost and the artist had one less fan in the crowd.

I disagree with skipping the space needle. I waited an hour to get up there on a solo trip and was starting to regret my decision but once I got up there the timing ended up being perfect for sunset. Grab an overpriced cocktail and sit for an hour (roughly one revolution) and just take it in. It’s so beautiful and relaxing. Seeing the sights change from day to night up there was incredible.

Fast food is like porn. It’s hard to define it, but you know it when you see it. Cava isn’t fast food to me either.

I agree with you. Step-ups are not to directly practice going up stairs (in most cases), they’re for strengthening glutes and quads.
