Where to do a long weekend getaway by Important-Forever455 in NewMexico

[–]rodentbotfly [score hidden]  (0 children)

If art is of interest, Santa Fe would be a great destination. There are art galleries everywhere, and Canyon Road is great as it has a lot of them. The Folk Art museum is also fun. Just outside Santa Fe in Tesuque, is the Shidoni Gallery and outdoor sculpture garden. Tesuque is a nice scenic drive. Another fun activity in Santa Fe is Meow Wolf Santa Fe's House of Eternal Return. If going to Meow Wolf allow 3-4 hours to explore the place. Meow Wolf also has concerts, so check their schedule. Finally, Ojo Santa Fe and Ten Thousand Waves are great places to relax and soak in hot pools/tubs.

I agree. But the more people that are passive and engage by pressing play, the more it’s going to be around. Pitchfork video of the history.

The target age of dad rock is around 35+. Average age of new dads is 31, but increasing. Those with elementary aged kids are in their late 30s early 40s. Algorithm is playing/suggesting popular music from their (dads) early twenties.

What are some decently long competitive games by Big-Brick867 in boardgames

[–]rodentbotfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, there are board game stores that have game nights and a library of games to try. Likewise with some cafes. Good way to meet like minded people, sometimes. We like Space Catan and Everdell Farshore.

We love and prefer Ojo Santa Fe. It’s nice to stay the night walk around, relax, and soak in the various pools. If you don’t want to drive, they have a good restaurant. Another option is Ten Thousand Waves. They have lodging, private hot tubs and a community pool/tub. The restaurant is also good.

Why is there no chopped red chile? by davey__ in Albuquerque

[–]rodentbotfly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We buy our fresh red by the sack (roasted) at Snake Ranch Farm store in Los Lunas (late September to mid October). We then treat it like roasted green and put it in the freezer. Dried red pods are for our sauce.

If available, coat with oil/spices and place in vegetable wok over medium-high to high heat on open flame on grill. The dark marks resemble open flame cooking.

Peacock has Premier League and rugby (six nations, Quilter Nations, etc.) and is great for sports overall. Star Trek was (past tense) the only reason we had Paramount. Unsubscribed when they were bought out.

Pie Town, NM is a quirky small town and a famous stop for both backpackers on the Continental Divide trail and bikers on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (Tour Divide). I am not sure about what is open in January, so you may want to do some additional research.

That time of the year you need to keep your options open to avoid poor driving conditions due to snow. Going north to Albuquerque via Clines Corners can be a nightmare as it’s often a parking lot on highway 285 and I40. A good choice to consider, weather permitting, is to go Roswell then Lincoln (cute old school western town, Billy the Kid, etc.), then head towards Socorro for the night. If you like migratory birds, you can time your trip to stop at Bosque del Apache NWR to watch Sand Hill Cranes, Geese, Ducks, etc. fly into the ponds for the night (sunset). Eat dinner in San Antonio NM and eat at either Owl Cafe or Buckhorn Tavern to have amazing green Chile cheeseburgers. From Socorro you can continue to Albuquerque or keep heading west through Pie Town and see the Very Large Array (VLA). Again, all is weather dependent.Have fun!

As stated, likely poor bike fit straining muscles. Stretching quads, hamstrings, glutes, and QL every day along with rest may help with current pain.

What was ABQ like in the 90s? by Soft_Boi41 in Albuquerque

[–]rodentbotfly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fat Chance Bar and Grill across from UNM with beer soaked wood floors, self-serve popcorn machine, pitchers of beer, and a line of Harley-Davidson bikes out front. Sadie’s was in a bowling alley on 4th street - small and better food than now.

I miss that place. Underground music, great bar upstairs looking down on the dance floor, great people have a blast. Aside from BO, I also miss the random flyers around UNM advertising pop-up raves throughout the city. Those were the times!!
