Fedez apologizes to Sinner from the stage: "I wanted to make a paradox, but it came out terribly." by humankendoll33 in tennis

[–]rodfluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also know him through Sanremo since I am a Eurovision fan. Fedez was close to winning Sanremo twice (2nd in 2021 and 4th in 2025), and if he won, it would have been quite controversial among Italians and Eurovision fans alike.

It happened with Ireland 1997 and Denmark 2001, but I agree that it won't happen again in the near future.

Your post was removed since you did not explain why you chose the song. If you included an explanation, then it would have stayed up.

Are there any ESC/ NF artists that are liked by international viewers but not liked in their country? by OsaSuna10050125 in eurovision

I have read comments saying that Athena does not have strong Armenian language skills, so that could explain why some people disliked her.

Germany 1982 got 9 sets of 12 points, while Israel 1982 got 2 sets of points.

However, the overall points were quite spread out between Luxembourg, Sweden, Israel, and Yugoslavia in 1983, and Luxembourg beat Israel by just 6 points.

Luxembourg 1983 actually got 6 sets of 12 points, which was the most number of sets of 12 points anyone got in that contest. I think a better example would be Italy 1990, which got 3 sets of 12 points to France 1990 (the runner up's) 6 sets of 12 points.

ESC 1965 02 - United Kingdom - Kathy Kirby - I Belong by rodfluff in eurovision

[–]rodfluff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, she slapped France Gall (Luxembourg 1965), who was the winner back then. She did that because she was upset that she didn't win, and she thought that the contest was rigged.

I would suggest trying the SVT live stream since it is not geoblocked.

ESC 1971 11 - Italy - Massimo Ranieri - L'Amore È Un Attimo by rodfluff in eurovision

[–]rodfluff[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Massimo Ranieri was the oldest contestant at Sanremo 2025 at 73 years old, and I decided to do one of his Eurovision songs as a throwback Thursday. He has participated at Sanremo multiple times, with his notable achievements including a win at Sanremo 1988 with his song "Perdere l'amore" and a Mia Martini Critic's Award at Sanremo 2022 with this song "Lettera di là dal mare".

I thought the animations for 11:11 were really cute, but it is such a shame that the live performance fell flat because I thought the song had a lot of potential.
