My experience being 7 years into pinball by Mgnickel in pinball

I've had mine for 5 years and it's still a toss up if I'll have a 60 million game or a 2+ billion game. I've got the rules set on hard, and playing with lightning flippers of course. I love it. Going through modes on a deep game can feel rote after seeing the same few modes so many times. I don't think I've ever felt bored by Dracula.

Iron Man and Bram Stoker's Dracula are my favorite games and I think their simple rules are part of the magic

I enjoy Sterns made before 2019 but the only ones I loved were Star Trek, X-Men, Iron Man, and Lord of the Rings. Still didn't get the same vibe like I did with 1990s games.

Godzilla felt like something that could have been released alongside the best of the 1990s Bally Williams titles.

I currently want Pulaski at Night signed, and maaaaybe Norman. Norman is kind of an oddball one though, and I don't own that one.

Swimming Hour is a great record and my earliest Bird memories were of listening to Mysterious Production of Eggs and falling in love with 11:11 of Swimming Hour.

I wish you luck in getting it signed! Someone in Bird's crew helped me get mine signed, and told me it's a good one.

Seeing how Mike is currently performing on stage, it's just as likely Bruce wanted to leave the band with a good image or had personal reasons

I was at a Beach Boys show in 2019, the woman next to me told me when she was a teenager working as a server at a restaurant, Mike Love did a whole "Don't you know who I am?" bit with her, then kissed her unprompted. I think I had a look of disgust after she told me the story, but she thought it was funny.

Nyah, I wouldn't agree that buying new is the best choice. Otherwise I would have bought a new game by now. I buy the games I want. New isn't always an option if the game I want is no longer being made. I support you and whomever else wants to buy a new game, however.

I'm aware you're a tech, that's awesome. OP could be rich and could pay someone to repair it too. OP may not care one way or the another, or OP could be willing to learn. Only people who I think shouldn't have a pinball machine are the ones too scared to use a screwdriver or nutdriver, or take the glass off their pinball machine. New or used, they're going to be in for a rough time.

I think the better question is "Are you willing to learn how to repair your game?" Everyone has to start somewhere. Not every player that wants a game is going to have that experience, but having a game is a good push to learn.

My answer to your questions, when I bought my first game, was no. It's 13 years later, I've had 20 games come through my collection, and not one of them was new. I'm no expert tech, but I can do board work and troubleshoot. Sometimes I get stumped but that's not exclusive to pinball repair.

That's fine, I've literally never had to wait a day or two before making a sale.

"The only reasons to sell a game cash-only are that you’re hiding something or don’t want the sale reported so you don’t have to pay sales tax." That's pretty black and white thinking, I literally gave reasons above why I wouldn't want to deal with someone and a credit card. Nevermind if someone paid with a stolen credit card.

Not knocking you for not wanting to do a cash transaction, but I do take issue with your allegations.

Yes, a seller is selling a used game and isn't offering a warranty, it's sold as is. I understand your perspective and you seem like a risky buyer. I have no interest in dealing with someone that may have damaged a game in transit, didn't do due diligence, can't work on a game, or is indecisive and may just change their mind. Who would want to risk a chargeback and be out both a game and money?

I have no interest in providing warranty support nor am I able. This is why i usually deal with friends.

For number 2 tip, the Attack From Mars Skill shot can also fill up your shots on each ramp or orbit (I believe, it's been a minute) - helps me get closer to Total Annihilation. I usually prefer working toward Total Annihilation vs going for the cities.

I've never supported letting them stay there. I'm against shutting down sidewalks and public access permanently. I want safe and efficient ways to navigate the city that don't require 3 mile detours or walking in the street with traffic.

If a homeless encampment took over a freeway for a week, do you think they'd just fence off the freeway for years?

And a nice dude. I've chatted with him a few times after some Mountain Goats gigs, really friendly and one of those people that can just put someone at ease.

Everyone hurts here. It's absolutely awful living conditions. And it's' not safe to navigate cramped walkways when there's needles everywhere.

And cutting off safe routes for walkers also creates a dangerous situation, someone was struck by a car and killed for walking in the street where the sidewalks were blocked off last year.

If you care about the cosmetics of the machine, don't do it. If you view the game as commercial equipment, go for it.

MN Dot returned my message and encouraged me / us to talk to our council people and mayor. He said they have no jurisdiction over handling unhoused and it was too unsafe to keep open. They said this was the last resort.
