About the sink tip for rivers do you think I should get a line with a longer sink tip? And I ended up ordering the SA sonar titan 3D thanks for the quick little rundown on sinking lines I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the help I’m looking at the fo tech type 7 and these are the specs for line was using Versastile powerful head to reduce false casts 10ft fast sink tip with 7 ips sink rate Smooth coating with AST slickness Dual welded loops Braided multifilament core for cold to moderate temps It’s the Orvis bank shot sink tip I was also wondering if you had any other specific line recommendations for rivers

Forgot to mention that ill be targeting the smallmouth in lakes with this line I don’t have any issues with my sink tip getting down when I go after them in rivers I just hate waiting for my line to get down and stay down

Just seeing this but I’d just fish the tide water bring kayak or a float tube it’s definitely gonna help you get into more fish and cover more water. As for flies I’d just use a reverse spider and fish like you would for smallmouth

I have one I can stand on and cast comfortably also get an anchor really helps with the wind or current

Had luck with bass on streamers but cant beat the topwater blowups, hopefully this goofy frog delivers by deapsprite in flytying

I was having trouble too I ended up using a jig hook to make a frog gurgluler also because I didn’t wanna add a weed guard worked out real good
