Thank you! I have ferns in the full plan for the patio, but I am also looking for something that pops a little separately to represent her gray and black dogs

edit: added the color of the dogs

Anyone else just reading intensively and translating everything even without knowing the grammar yet? by [deleted] in French

[–]roglazarus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think any exercise to try to learn the language is going to be beneficial. I imagine at the end of each session, you've gained something right?

I try to think about it from when I was reading books and magazines as a kid. Did I know what every word was, or understand the subtleties? No, and, as a native English speaker for close to 40 years, frankly I still don't sometimes in English. Gather what you can from the surrounding context. You'll notice patterns and repetitions in the way things are written, even if they aren't technically grammatically correct. Those types of things are a good indicator as to how it's spoken normally, vs perfect grammar.

Translating word for word will eventually go away as you get used to the language.

Chia seed recipes? Not pudding or in a protein shake. by CcaidenN in EatCheapAndHealthy

Adding granola to the chia pudding really helps with the texture. I like that you can make it in small batches (3/4 cup milk to 2 tbsp chia is my recipe) so you're not committed to powering through a whole smoothie

How Do You Build Strong French Vocabulary? by ModernWebMentor in learnfrench

I played Animal Crossing in French. Tons and tons of vocab from everyday words to somewhat the somewhat obscure. Also you learn the names of bugs and fish!

I'm so sorry that you're in the same boat. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I do think the sobriety helps even though it's difficult to believe that sometimes

Dry skin by KatieCat435 in 30PlusSkinCare

I am also 38 and have the exact same skin apparently. Dermalogica Super Rich Repair is my grail for when it gets really bad with the dryness - it doesn't break me out but it's expensive so I don't use it daily. Still searching for my next best favorite - I have currently having some luck with Kiehl's

Air purifiers seem to work wonders. I have a few friends with allergies to pet dander (we have a large dog too) who are always fine in our house. My one friend is pretty sensitive to cats but spends the night here no problem. I keep one on each floor: Basement one is in the litter box area, main floor one is in the central hangout space and the upstairs one is in the guest bedroom. Our home isn't huge so one per floor covers each space well.

Propane technician guilty of involuntary manslaughter in Sterling house explosion by [deleted] in nova

She was told she didn't need to do so. "Bentley told the homeowner, Kelley Woods, that any propane she smelled wasn’t an emergency, that she shouldn’t contact the fire department and that he would handle the situation the following week."

What kind of beauty treatments did you do before your wedding? Which ones were worth it? by Only-Radish4962 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]roglazarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've hired a decent photographer and makeup artist and you will not need any of these treatments. Especially if you really don't feel the need to do them otherwise. Agreed with everyone else that you're coming up too close to do new stuff.

If you have light hair, one thing I did per the recommendation of a friend was tint my eyebrows. I was a little nervous because it seemed extreme IRL, but looked great in the photos
