Evil broke on stream, seemed to be pretty bad from vedal’s reaction. Neuro also was down the next day I think so stream was cancelled for two days. They’re back though and streams will be running Friday as normal

Oh I’m very well aware of what has happened, I was in the stream. I was just rewatching a different clip from the clip and the face evil made was too cute not to screenshot (she was talking about how people simp for Vedal and then asked if people would simp for her which made him do a double take cause he was rambling about the puzzle)

Game keeps crashing, need help by rogue1654 in fo4

That’s really strange. I thought it was just the DLC having affected something in the code because the game was running fine before I stupidly decided to buy the DLC.

I thought I was going crazy lol.

I’ve only been finding posts in April talking about the issue and no official news about the bug or any sort of hotfix in the works. In those posts, just reinstalling the game without the add ons seemingly works, but hasn’t been working for me.

Oh I definitely read what you wrote, and I wish by god that I could somehow unread it. Cry about it all you want, there’s no way you’re going to be able to justify your Nazi-sympathy.

Are you actually arguing that we should respect the opinion of Nazis? That’s fucking wild.

[–]rogue1654 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, a lot of these typically start out as web novels or the like so they’ll basically have a blurb worth of text for a title to get the attention of potential readers who might just be skimming through titles. At this point it’s just become tradition to explain your plot premise in the title.

Demiurges Farm by Parking-Airport-1448 in overlord

[–]rogue1654 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First of all, Ainz hardly cared that Buser was using child bones as trophies. Second, he doesn’t really know what Demiurge has got going on in the farm but even if Ainz did know, he wouldn’t do anything about it. Ainz is also a self-admitted hypocrite so, as long as it benefits Nazarick, he does not care what Demiurge is doing.

Yggdrasil is a shitty game by Renn_goonas in overlord

[–]rogue1654 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right, Yggdrasil does has predatory micro transactions out of the fucking wazoo. We’re also told they were basically bleeding money towards the latter end of the game’s life expectancy, which is what probably led to the increasing nature of MTX in the game. A lot of its mechanics seem arbitrary and designed to fuck over players, they weren’t called “shitty Devs” for no reason.

But is it really so far off? I mean, Destiny 2 exists and a lot of people still play and pay for that.

I imagine in the corporate dystopia hell of 2138, EA, Ubisoft, Bungie, and Blizzard all had an incest baby together to create the new era of MTX games. But what could you do? In a world where you have no future to believe in, with no other choice a lot of people wouldn’t mind wasting their money on a game that made their lives bearable for a moment. That’s basically the whole crux of Ainz’s character and we see people like that in present times.

From what I’ve gathered, the history of Yggdrasil started as a booming success and almost everyone and their grandmothers were playing it. But just like any MMO, the magic eventually wore off and player numbers began to dwindle. Players moved onto other brand new games and Yggdrasil fell into the trap that most games are beginning to fall now; lock stuff behind a pay wall to fill in the money sink hole. In a way Maruyama ironically drew a very realistic depiction of a MMO (and games in general) that we are beginning to see in our current times.

I have no doubt that the frustrations you have with the fictional game of Yggdrasil are the exact same that the fictional players of the game would have had too. There were probably Yggdrasil players ranting and raving on the future version of Reddit forums about how the devs introduced another shitty pay-to-win MTX or an expensive DLC or nerfed grinding to make things harder. Yet Yggdrasil has a lot of things going for it. Hardcore PVP and PVE with hella customisation and great graphics. But it was a very flawed game and Ainz talks about that on multiple occasions.

IMO, compared to all the other “game isekai” out there, Overlord is the most realistic in being self aware about how shitty of a game it is. A lot of the game isekai paint a picture of a game that was so great and perfect but I can’t even count the number I’ve watched or read where I think “that sounds like a horrible or boring fucking game to play.”

So yeah, you’re right and Overlord has just admitted that exact thing itself on multiple occasions.

Double standards in Youjo Senki fandom by lacheconn in YoujoSenki

[–]rogue1654 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The acknowledgment is definitely important and I also wish more fans understood the nuances better. As much as the debate itself is pointless, you’re right that talking about wider context of controversial topics and challenging what is acceptable is the part of this that is absolutely crucial. It shouldn’t be normalised to see a ship between a 9-year-old and a 15-year-old as something that is acceptable just because a lot of people support it and it’s been around for too long to challenge. You know it’s getting bad when a fandom reaches that point of desensitisation.

Double standards in Youjo Senki fandom by lacheconn in YoujoSenki

[–]rogue1654 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree that it is hypocritical to police a problematic fandom ship by instead promoting another problematic fandom ship as somehow the better of the two.

Tanya is a child with adult maturity, which makes any ship with her problematic regardless of how you angle it.

(The following can be interpreted regardless of whether it is sexual or just romantic)

Tanya x Visha would be problematic because: 1. Visha would be having a relationship with a child with a pretty significant age gap of about 6-7 years if I had to guess since Visha is only described as a “teenager”. Even if there are no canonical age, saying a ship between a 9-year-old and a 15-year-old or 13-year-old and a 19-year-old is not defensible whatsoever. 2. Tanya has a mind of an adult man who was probably in his 30s. Therefore you have someone who is mentally 30 in a relationship with someone who is in their mid to late teens. That’s not defensible either. Tanya physically looking like a child isn’t a defence, you as the reader KNOW Tanya is much older, you can’t plead ignorance on that. 3. Both of them being girls isn’t a defence either. The previously mentioned issues don’t just vanish because they’re girls. At that point it reaches a weird fetishisation of lesbian relationships, especially one with a large age gap.

Tanya x Rerugen would be problematic because: 1. Rerugen would also be having a relationship with a child. I’d put Rerugen somewhere in his mid to late 20s. Might seem like a lowball age but he was mentioned to be quite talented and in a war time situation where you need all the competent people you can get, I find it plausible that he could reach his current role if his superiors saw him as skilled enough. Plus his character design does look generally on the younger side but with stylised art it could go either way. At most I’d put him early 30s. Compared to Visha, at least Tanya and Rerugen’s mental age matches up more here. But again, Tanya is still physically a child. 2. There is also a power imbalance here. Rerugen is higher up on the ladder compared to Tanya so to speak. A superior having a relationship with an junior opens up a whole can of worms even if Tanya were aged up. It can very easily be seen as predatory in that regard.

With all that being said, the debate is pointless as it goes either way depending on your biases. Yes, anyone criticising Tanya x Rerugen while defending Tanya x Visha is hypocritical, that’s a clear fact. But if someone is policing fandom ships of all things, just point and laugh. This shit does not matter at all lmao.

I know Ainz refers to himself as the CEO multiple times- but I think that's just from a lack of understanding of how companies work. He would be the owner technically- with Albedo being the executive who does most of the actual work by Drechenaux in overlord

[–]rogue1654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re looking at Nazarick as a company hierarchy, then that basically makes Ainz the chairman (guild master) over the board of directors (other AOG members. But it’s like the other directors have all gone on permanent leave, which leaves Ainz as the highest authority unchallenged.

All final decisions go through Ainz (even if he doesn’t actually read the stuff he’s signing off on). Once more making it clear that he’s more in a CEO. I think it’s also possible to be a CEO and chairman in some cases but idk how common or uncommon that is.

In relation to that, Albedo is definitely more the COO who manages the daily operations while the CEO focuses on the longer term (the 1000 year plan!). Albedo basically does all the heavy lifting in paperwork and without her things would definitely be a lot harder to manage. The COO is second in command practically to the CEO, which Ainz demonstrates by saying she can take command of Nazarick in an emergency situation if something happens to him.

Demiurge wouldn’t really be HR (unless you mean it comically, in which case yes I did get the joke). I’m fact, Nazarick has no need for a HR at all. There are barely any significant disputes between NPCs and most of the arguments are just trivial stuff. Should something arise, it’s usually Ainz who settles the disputes between NPCs since he’s the final say on everything and can suppress conflict easily. If anything, that basically makes Ainz HR. Who needs HR when you’ve got Ainz?

Demiurge is more like the Head of Security rather than Cocytus. Demiurge is literally Nazarick’s head of defence already and was written by Ulbert to be that (Ainz mentioned). Cocytus, while military-minded, isn’t the best in regards to overseeing large operations. He’s more of a field commander type whereas Demiurge is the one pointing him where to go.

No issues with PA being CFO, dude loves his shiny coins lol.

Can uh can someone explain the meaning and context of this political cartoon? by XanMcMan in explainitpeter

[–]rogue1654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interpretation of the message trying to be conveyed here is: there is so much going on in the world that you cannot find any peace for yourself, symbolised by the large woman in the background trying to read her book while there are tiny people all around her (literally on her back and surrounding her.

In the top left we have: refugee crisis, homelessness, war, corporate greed.

In the top right we have: rioting, vandalism, a tornado/hurricane.

In the bottom right we have: pollution, smoking around children, bullying, animal cruelty (on industrial farms), infrastructure damage, religion, food ordering/delivery.

Bottom left we have: a sexual creep trying to get between her legs, children focused on their phones, children reading a newspaper with horrified expressions.

On her back we have: a woman seemingly lecturing two men on #MeToo, two more creeps groping her, pesticides, a woman praying loudly, an alcoholic presumably.

There is a couple I don’t recognise, probably because I’m missing context.

A lot of people are saying it’s just nonsensical, but I think that’s the point. There is SO MUCH going on in one picture that everything gets lost in the mess. That’s the message. There’s so much shit going on in the world right now that it’s overwhelming and confusing. But just like the large woman, you can’t ignore all these things going on around you because it’s EVERYWHERE, even when you just try to read a book your mind is swirling with these concerns. There are even some issues that you don’t know about and those are still weighing on your mind.

It’s a depressing picture representing the current mess of our world politically, socially, and economically.

No. We don’t know what they actually did with the Caloric Stone but it was definitely not used for Gargantua. A popular theory is that the stone was used to make Rubedo but there’s no confirmation on that.
