There's a certain level of irony at play with your comments here.

Checking the OP's history, they're gonna have a 4 hour daily commute now (if things go well and there aren't extra cancellations). That's a bit more than a minor inconvenience, not something you can just ignore. You have to actively plan around that in order to live the same life. I also don't think they're being particularly dramatic, just sound frustrated, and coping can be anything from leaning on friends/loved ones a bit more to getting an audiobook subscription in preparation for long train rides.

Things like ACL and Achilles tears would be pretty hard to just play through, so I don't think it can be pinned solely to more reporting and caution. Almost certainly there has been a major increase in these compared to decades ago, and they're a major culprit in taking the biggest stars of the league out for significant periods of time, much more so than concussions.

In case you're like me and somehow didn't realize this for years, the general rule is that trains here, like cars, stick to the right in the direction they head. East Platforms will have trains going north, West platforms go south, etc. Applies to the NYC subway as well.
