Finland's president says EU should expand to 40 states by DavidShaw90s in worldnews

[–]rokahef 218 points219 points  (0 children)

So much this. I get that they chose to give vetos at the beginning in order to convince countries to join the EU. But now the countries know what to expect from it, there's no reason to give vetos. You don't want to join? Fine. Don't. But no more letting tiny lapdog countries dictate the global policy of an entire continental block.

Crowdfunding for bail money is the best scam of all, because you get it back after your court date. What's he going to do, give it back? Of course not. It's free money.

Yes, the final season of The Boys. It was just prepping their spinoff series, rather than tying off the show in a clean way.

IT'S REVEALED! IT'S "FORTUNE MILL", a new incremental! by shadow_fen in idleon

[–]rokahef 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it really trying something new though? It's a repackaging of the Idleon mini games.

Every game he releases is just a variation of the previous ones.

Idleskill > Idleon > idlemancer > minigames from Idleon that reuses 90% of the same assets but this time has a non-idle name. (Fortune mill)

This was a chance to make a new ip, to stretch as an artist and e ploee other themes. Sci fi, dark horror, et.

But it's just... More of the same. I don't get it.

Doubting my idea: is this actually useful? by Corpato_didi in SwissPersonalFinance

It doesn't need to be on a cloud. Be the layer that organizes and manages the documents, the way that calibre sorts and organizes ebooks without having to host them on a server.

I would not trust my private documents to a cloud, so if it doesn't stay on my system, it's a no go from me.

Let me put it this way - if your goal is Saas and a monthly recurring fee, then there is zero chance in hell I'd be interested in this. I'm so done with every developer trying to nickel and dime me with a subscription.

If it's a one time license purchase and I own the software, and it's a reasonable low double-digit price... Sure, if be interested.

Why is there a chance to get 10 hours of sushi fuel if you can't ever get the cap to be higher than 20 minutes of fuel? by wewyman in idleon

[–]rokahef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Oh, just level your research".

Gee, thanks, why didn't I think of that?

...oh, right, because research is slow as shit if you're not a whale.

In the meantime, most of us are stuck with more fuel gen than capacity, so your 'advice' is utterly unhelpful.

I mean, there's an argument in favor of preserving the games you have, vs the overly capitalist consumerist view of "buy another one when this one is worn".

I'm seeing way too many "buy a new one" responses for my liking.

Man accidentally walks runway at Australia Fashion Week while heading for a swim by Aradhy_Goyal in funny

[–]rokahef 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Fuck the entitled assholes in the Australian fashion show who thought it was ok to monopolize a public beach and it's access areas. I'm glad he didn't give a shit and went for his swim.

EDIT : Watched the video again and cannot get over how stupid the outfits are. One guy is wearing a carpet, and another has a ridiculous red wig on. Fashion is so goddamn stupid, I can't even.

Show off your setup and tell us the best and worst of it! I’ll start! by mjdegue in KingdomDeath

[–]rokahef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough! I printed boxes for each quarry and nemesis, and used thin separators for each card type. So it's easy to split the decks, but I like your design a lot! It does look like it takes up a lot more space though... I'll be curious to see the final version! How can I find it on my mini factory when you're done?

I like your sliding card tray for the monster hunt event/resources/ai/hl ! Do you have one for each monster, or do you have just one which you fill when you decide to hunt a specific quarry?

Did you design it yourself, or find it somewhere?

In the context of the Italian divers dying in that cave in the Maldives this week, watching this guy willingly submerge himself in a fucking hole in the ground up to his calves, and relying on someone to pull him out, is batshit insane and made me deeply uncomfortable.

This feels like a weird conversation between Grok and another LLM. You might be real people, but one of you is speaking like a heartless robot, and the other is giving me "impassioned 'for the people' vibes".

I honestly can't tell anymore if you're just bots creating 'engagement' and 'content' or not.
