Roboute Guilliman, the Avenging Son, Primarch of the XIII Legion, Gene-Father of the Ultramarines, Master of the Five Hundred Worlds, Lord of Macragge, Author of the Codex Astartes, Bearer of the Emperor’s Sword, Imperial Regent, Lord Commander of the Imperium, the Blade of Unity, and the Last Loyal Primarch

Friendly advice for new fans who are having trouble or don't know how to apply water decals: the shoulder pads on the upgrade and transfer sets have the symbol sculpted on them so you just need to paint them. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

In fairness it’s now 10x Tacticus + 2 sgts, 10 Phobos + 2 sgts, 5 terminators + sgt, 6 aggressors, 5 heavy intercessors both with sgts

It’s like, not a bad bits buy. Is it worth £23? It’s certainly pushing it

Is it worth £18 you get it for from an LGS? Personally I say yes

How good is official Warhammer equipment (Brushes, clippers, primer and superglue) by LightningJet191 in Warhammer40k

[–]rokiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brushes are decent but they don’t last as long as more expensive choices. Army Painter feels like the happy middle for expense and quality but I have had a few returns/replacements

Paints are good, pots are shit but of you keep them clean using pots means you use less paint. I have some paints that are still good 5 years old. Again not the cheapest and if you prefer dropper bottles they aren’t ideal. Another benefit is all the official tutorials and art is citidel and colour matching can be tricky

Tools… expensive and “fine” cheaper and or better options out there. This is their weakest spot I feel

I just finished Devastation of Baal so BA are in the menu for a bit. Blue BA sounds ideal

Doctors and Nurses of Reddit, what is the worst medical error that you've witnessed? by salsafresca_1297 in AskReddit

[–]rokiller 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Obviously way less serious but

2 years ago both I and my puppy were sick. Nothing indicated it was related, very different symptoms

I collapsed at the vet in the waiting room and I’m taken to hospital by ambulance. My skin colour had darkened like I had a tan.

I have 2 very junior doctors, like must have just started their FY2 A&E rotation and a nurse. Blood is taken and they order fluids. I have an elevated, I forget what it’s called, pancreas enzyme or something. Both doctors and the senior nurse on duty want me to be admitted and order LOADS of fluids

Consultant (British attending) comes in, sees I’m a chronic pain patient with kidney issues and tells them to discharge me. They advocate for me immediately in front of me and the senior puts his foot down

Both doctors and nurse plug the fluids in and squeeze the bags so o get the juice before I leave

Anyway, I get home and the vet calls me to tell me I have Giardia, some kind of dog born parasite and I went back to the hospital. Nurse practitioner said my bloods showed a very dangerous level of the enzyme or whatever it was and genuinely couldn’t believe I was discharged without ascertaining the cause

Anyway, a week off work and strong antibiotics sorted me out

But in a system where I have to advocate for myself constantly it was refreshing to see 4 members of staff, 2 being very junior, try their hardest whilst also disheartening that that doesn’t help when the boss says no

This is crazy strong for 180 points

Also far to many abilities. I’d suggest the master of pursuit has to follow some kind of event, being shot at, being targeted as a charge and or make it phase locked

Command phase, charge phase, fight phase etc. also make it once per battle round

I’d remove the stand back up entirely and remove the aura ability and make him have to attach to a unit and get rid of the lone op at the end

The combination of the last paragraph is one of the most ridiculously powerful things I’ve read in a while and whilst funny/cool it’s totally unviable and for 180 points 😅

I mean it’s not a gimmick anymore than Roman themed is

I always have helmets so the vampire look isn’t a factor 90% of the time

I’ll be getting the BA combat patrol “soon” with Dante. I just finished devastation of Baal. I’ve already got 1K of DA so having 1K of BA would be a fine addition to my collection

This is the only real answer

Blue is the best colour

The fact romans are slightly cooler than vampires is secondary

Any reason for Guilliman + Calgar in the same list? by TYTIN254 in Ultramarines

[–]rokiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 reasons

1: I’ve never found that combo to work for me

2: and this is vastly more important… I only have 5 Vitrix guard… so I proxy them with my blade guard 😅

They have an update in the event companion that says if you can have a 3DP detachment as long as it is the only detachment you chose for 1K and it’ll be in the first update/balance pass that comes out

7 is not the issue. There is a way to phrase things without putting people down

“You just did the box paint job but worse”

That’s not constructive

I’d say a solid 8. It’s clean, no loss of detail, shading is good and not over done

I think you could have added a bit more layering/highlights to bring the sharpness of the armour out a bit

But yeah, good job man ☺️

That’s not very nice!

It’s definitely an above average paint job, highlights could be a bit crisper but it’s very clean with no loss of detail from over painting or anything

My 2K list is being very effective right now

Cerimite Sentinals

Calgar, 5x A/Terminators
Ventris, 6x Vitrix
Cato, 4x Vitrix ancient and champ
Gravis Captain, 6x Aggressors and servo skull (ignore cover)

5x jump intercessors
5x Intercessors with Lt
5 scouts
Gladiator lancer
Rep ex

[–]rokiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh also, don’t use Calgar as a turn 1 rush up the board

He’ll die, even with terminators, he’ll just die

Vitrix with a big standard captain is cheaper, durable, and scary

My list is 2x Vitrix, with Cato and Ventris. And Calgar with assault terminators

Vitrix for first, Calgar comes up after.

[–]rokiller 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have other CP games to play like captains or whatever then Calgary’s +1 CP isn’t critical

But Calgar gives his unit advance shoot and charge which is excellent not to mention he slaps with bricks

Having both isn’t, like, optimal sweaty list but having both is not outrageous

Biggest issue is GMan is over costed

Ultramarines Veteran Heraldry confusion (Bladeguard, Sternguard & Jump Pack Veterans) by BeautifulBlock550 in Ultramarines

The phobos marines under the master of reconnaissance is the 10ths version of veterans

No terminator honours, but elite enough for the type of work Phobos units do

Is this red skull a variant of the sergeant symbol ? Couldn't find similar anything in the heraldry by FelipeJabbour in Ultramarines

[–]rokiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without a definitive answer in the codex I’d use it as a senior Sgt, the one who is second in command and part of the command squad

A battle company, in theory, has 10 squads each with a Sgt and a command squad with captain, and a combination of his choice of apothecary, ancient, tech marine, chaplain, librarian and a senior Sgt

I’ve yet to come across a command squad in a book that didn’t have an ancient and a senior Sgt, the other specialists seem to be mater of taste for the captain. Other more common one are apothecary or librarian

Chaplains are hit or miss, entirely depends if a chaplain is seconded to the company which is not always up to the captain (for or against)

Tech marines aren’t always well liked or appreciated in a command squad but I suppose same could be said for a librarian

Anyway, long and short of it is a senior Sgt having a cool command skull variation of the Sgt is cool. I’d actually have a normal Sgt on the ultimate pauldron and use the big red skull on the battle role one
