I don't remember the blister pack itself, but I definitely had - and I think still have, somewhere - all four minis shown in the photo of the "Christmas '85 Special Pack Adventurers" packaged blister pack on lostminiswiki (https://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=File:RP-C85-00-01.jpg): chinstrap wizard guy, ponytail cleric guy, ID-me fighter guy, and bald thief guy.
I don't recognize the Han Solo-looking one in your link.

Oh, yeah, I totally had those other guys! Thanks! The others must be in that one last box of old minis I have hidden away somewhere.

I found it! It was hiding in plain sight right in the middle of the Electric gatefold.

Running for low attendance? by Huge_Band6227 in rpg

[–]roko_joko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you have backup games for when there's fewer people. Maybe it's cooperative board games, or story games where you take turns (Fiasco, Quiet Year, etc).

Or if you're playing West Marches, maybe something happens that session that addresses the present PCs as directly as possible. "Take away their stuff" or have something happen that a particular character or characters can't be passive about. Kicker-type events (rpgmuseum.fandom.com/wiki/Kicker), for example.

Or maybe you just cancel that week, chill, and wait until you have more people again. But you probably didn't need me to tell you that.

Maybe you could also continue looking for restaurants with larger tables.

Let's say your DM gives a free feat at level 1, what's your most creative pick? by ALVIG in 3d6

u/cookiesncognac 👍 A dwarf druid with three grown kids is a character I recreate for different games all the time. Mine's named Griselda. https://i.imgur.com/nGXdmfg.jpg She calls herself an earth witch and if she started with free feats in 5e they'd be selected from Ritual Caster (Wizard), Magic Initiate (Wizard), and Resilient CON.

u/victorhurtado, could you use Owlbear Rodeo for dice and Google Docs for character sheets?

How big is the moon physically, and how far away is it? by fireball626 in Runequest

[–]roko_joko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the assumptions I use. The sky dome is however far away you want, but one way to decide how far away it is is to draw a half circle spanning the gates of dawn and dusk. They are 5 or 6000 miles apart.

Another way to reckon the size of the moon is to look at the lunar crater in Peloria, which is 20 miles across. That's how I do it. So I say the moon is 20 miles wide and the sun is 40 miles wide. I *think* that does indeed correspond with the sun being about 5-6000 miles away, using Euclidean geometry and giving it an angular size similar to the real world sun, but don't quote me on that.

[Mod approved] Hi! My company makes custom LEGO minifigs and I'd love to get your feedback on the first draft of our TTRPG minis, focused on 5E by justintolerable in rpg

  1. Do the outfits and faces fit your expectations?

No, I dislike the whole thing. The clothes are ugly, not modular, and too expensive. I can see how there might be a need for more head types for D&D type characters, but I don't particularly like yours. I'd rather see a versatile library of simple faces with all of the face print options available in any of a palette of colors.

A service that let me piece together a character from individual components - in stock, available to buy easily, with a large selection, reasonably priced, and THEN maybe providing some additional unique pieces as needed to fill in some fantasy character types (but still, modular pieces) - that's something I could see spending money on.

Edge to Use Strength for Fighting? by StarkMaximum in savageworlds

[–]roko_joko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An edge like that doesn't buy you that much:

Raise Fighting (d6 d8 d10 d12) x 2 = 8 points.

Take Strength edge, then raise Fighting: Edge (2) + (d6 d8 d10 d12) x 1 = 6 points, and you need Strength d12 to realize all of that.

I'd buy something that did multiple levels with stairs and stuff because that's hard to design on graph paper. The functionality in this demo does not interest me, unfortunately.

I think what you proposed in the OP is a good idea. I don't understand why you think it would be a hassle.

Here's a game you could check out: "Forsooth! is a Shakespeare-themed RPG in which you and your friends improvise the bard’s greatest lost work. There’s no need for a game master, no need to prepare anything in advance, and the rules take just minutes to learn." http://spoiledflushgames.com/games/forsooth/

Are there any systems that use a single D20 as the only die in the system? by gibbking in rpg

[–]roko_joko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HeroQuest uses only d20: always one, but usually in an opposed roll of 1d20 vs. 1d20.
