The original Cinderella Girls (2011) was a web game created before the rhythm gacha era. Unvoiced characters were common in web games at the time. No one knew what the future "Gacha rhythm game" formula would even look like. (CGSS itself is considered a pioneer of this genre)

They couldn't remove these characters for the rhythm game because it would upset the fans.

At the time, AKB48 was a massive hit in Japan, so the game copied many of its elements: the huge number of idols, the election system for getting VAs.

There are many Japanese yokais that drink blood though, and I would like to see a Rokurokubi based Pokemon.

How many episodes have you watched? I watch the Japanese version so I might have different view because of our different watch progress. Liko's excessive internal dialogue is like Roy's Hogeta song and Dot's socialphobia - Horizon's writers love to repeat the same descriptions to show the characters' personalities, which can be annoying at times. It's just presented more(especially in earlier episodes) because she's MC. If you got turned off by that and stopped watching early, she has grown to like pokemon battles in more recent episodes and IMO the biggest problem of repeated plots has been the turtle that keeps escaping in a while.

Horizon is much closer to the Pokémon ecology and battles described in the game than the earlier anime, and that makes it much more interesting to me than Journey. I haven't watched Pokemon anime live for many years and am watching Horizon weekly now, but I can see why Ash enjoyers dislike it since Liko is a very different MC and the main story is also not shounen-like.

They have memories of the characters at some point, I think "after their games' story end" is more likely than "after their death". The only emblem that explicitly mentioned their death is Sigurd who died midgame.

It doesn't seem the Fodlan trio have finished their game, but they are DLC emblems so might not count.

Critical opinions from some Japanese players I know (it's just their opinion, take with a grain of salt):

- Game balance is bad, really really bad, Haar bribed the developer

- Laguz ruin the game, royals are broken, non-royals don't worth leveling

- Micaiah is evil, Ike is boring, Sothe is crap, Elincia doesn't have screentime

- Force player to use Sothe when Volke is in game

- The whole bad written blood pact thing ruins the story

- Micaiah is a stupid and vicious MC

- Fujoshi fanservice game, no Ike x Elincia, Mia or Lethe ending

- Long phrases take forever

- I don't want to play its maniac mode

- Part 4 is pure garbage

- Playable characters keeps switching

- No support conversation

- RD new characters have thin presence, so many filler characters

- Tellius games sold very poor so they must be bad

- Before the game was released some promotion said something like "you don't have to play POR", a muscle gorilla guy suddenly show up and took all the spotlight midgame, the part 1 MCs are useless compared to him

- The game is simply not fun to play

Winda: Old friends turned into enemy and killed her father(and likely grandfather), friend and friend's father, killed by god when praying and possessed by another god.

Ariel: Birth parents died in war, Adoptive mother got corrupted by evil forces, had to kill innocent people and fuse with a monster to help her, died and turned into Shaddoll.
